| Grandmother (Maternal Grandmother) Today is grandmas birthday, I change into an old style western suit. I took her out for a joyride in my cool antique car, In the car is what she loved most, retrieving the era that belongs to her. Driving towards the port of Da Dao Cheng, as she quietly reminisce of the past with grandpa. Granma, the ripples on her face, Beautiful but it can't hide her sadness, She has lost love, and now only hope for family love. Make up for response Adults think that it is only respectful that before they go out, they leave 600 dollars on the table. Working their hardest day till night With so much money yet so little care, what's the point? Granma's hopes, slowly becoming helpless. Adults can't seem to realise, What she wants is company, not 600 dollars. It is so much simpler than what you gave. Grandma's helplessness, can't become her expectations. Only love can understand it. Walking in the fresh water river bank, listening to her favourite things, it puts the warmth back. (lil kid sings) I remember grandmas birthday last year, cousin brother brought grandma and I to participate in the awards ceremony that was important to her.. (Jay) In the end I did not win any award. Dont know if I should laugh or not. I grinned at the camera, I only think that I am laughable. I feel sad. not because I didnt get an award Im depressed, because I saw grandma was depressed. (lil kid) Adults simply cannot understand cousins well intention, it seems as if as long as they are happy, they can deny it. (Jay) Deny, my work that decision depends on their mood I persistst with my style, yet they think its only ok. 'No surprises, no changes' Ive already heard it all for the past 3 years. I told grandma, I havent lost, there's no need to change. (lil boy + Jay) Cousin said 'don't think of it as a lost, This is only a game, As long as grandma thinks its good to listen to Now that is a kind of encouragement Grandma reveals a smile saying she is proud of me. A shallow smile That makes me feel even more proud than getting an award.' |
