LAW OF THE PACK
THE SCHMACK PACK
The Pack is primarily a crafting/Social guild that is dedicated to the making available to the training and support of sworn assistance to one another.  No doubt about it the Pack has some serious long range goals and those include supporting the aims and ambitions of it's members, be they getting to level 50, or becoming a legendary crafter or terror on the battlefield.

When the Pack began we only had one law and it was good.  The Pack has grown(goodness how we have grown!)  Guild leadership has seen fit to institutue a more formal list of Laws of the Pack, for the good of our community.

The Law of The Pack:

1. THE PACK HAS YOUR BACK

This is our first law and it means what it says.  It means the Pack will support you to the best of its ability, with answers to questions, praise, encouragement or even cold hard cash.  This means that you are responsible for the pack mates who are around you.

2. HAVE FUN

The most important purpose of this game is to have fun.  If you are not having fun, take a break, gain some perspective.  If it's not fun for you it's not fun for those around you.  Editors note: If a player in guild is the cause of a violation of the NO FUN rule we will and have taken action to remove them from the guild so us that remain can continue having fun.

3. RESPECT THE TRUTH
This is pretty self explanitory. If you ate the last cookie 'fess up'.  If you make a mistake that gets everyone in a group wiped out, own up to it and learn from it.  Realize truth is highly subjective, what is true for you may or may not be true for others.

4. PARTICIPATE TO THE BEST OF YOUR ABILIT
Y
Engage in and fully participate in your experience here to the best of your ability.  Do your best and learn from your opportunities

5. KEEP GUILD AND ALLIANCE CHAT IMPECCABLE

Foul, harsh, bitter or blue language is completely unacceptable in guild and alliance chat.  This is a family game.  Barking and growling are okay, whining and biting is not.  Also remember to say hello to people and if someone asks a question that you don't know the answer to say: 'I don't know'

6. EARN AND HONOR RANK
Earn rank by stepping up to a leadership role when you have the opportunity.  Honor those who have come before you. Never promote without merit or demote without just cause.  Appoint a group leader and *listen* to the leader when you are in a hunting group.

7. ASK FOR HELP
If you don't know: ASK.  If you forgot: ASK.  Be supportable

8. SERVE YOUR COMMUNITY
Part of your duty in serving your community is sharing what you have learned with others, helping out newcomers and members of the realm 'who seem in mortal peril'.  Sometimes it is too hard to hit that /y command and yell for help.  If a monster is clearly winning, jump in and bail someone out.  Contribute to the guild warchest.  If you are an Officer, (Pack Elder or above) keep enough  gold on hand to fulfill our commitment to repair keep doors.

Additionally for those officers that can recruit can use the /gc invite <player name>.  Use it with judicious application.  We are a family here and while we are not always going to get along, rememeber that there are people that won't fit for the Pack.  A willingness to help others is the most important thing in our community.  Having a good sence of humor is a close second.

Crafters, Provide services to pack mates at cost.  Provide services to alliance members at no more than cost +20%.

As you can see there are many opportunities to serve the community.  But this is something that every member of the pack shall do.

9. DEFEND THE REALM

Kill.  When going for the kill, leap for the throat (casters of all types) since Casters today own Realm Vs. Realm battles.  It is part of our alliance obligations, that if the realm is suffering from a relic raid, anyone over the level of 20 should drop everything and head to the frontier keep that is under attack.  Kill Albs.  Kill Hibs.  Kill. Kill.  Kill.  When taking keeps for DF, defensive keep takes (our territory) are a priority over offensive keep takes (their territory).

10. DO NOT TELL PEOPLE HOW TO PLAY THEIR CHARACTER

Fact is, with the variances available for training, some characters of the same class will be remarkably different.  An augmentation healer is a far different animal than a pacification healer.  Just because you know how to play another character class, dont go around telling people what to do.

Questions, on the other hand, or observations of your own truth are permissible and even encouraged
(e.g.  I find that if I start with my direct bolt, and recast that instantly, and hit my insta-cast afterwards, I can usually bolt something to between fried and pan seared.  Do you start off with a bolt or your insta-cast?).
