ES GEAR PACKING LIST: Items for attending a SAREX


DOCUMENTATION ITEMS:

1. Current CAP membership card (should be carried on person at all times).
2. All other actual qualifications cards. I.e. CAPF 101 or 101T, CPR, 1st aid, etc. (should be carried on person at all times).
3. Signed permission slip.


72 Hour Pack: This pack will normally be left at the base camp. but during longer duration activities it will be used. Take the hike warning seriously. You will walk several miles with this pack!

1. Comfortable A.L.I.C.E pack or backpack that you would be able to carry for at least 6 miles with a full existence load. (This may be available form the unit, but should be signed out prior to the FTX)

2. Sleeping Bag, bedroll, or poncho liner in a waterproof bag. (Sleeping bags can normally be signed our from the unit but must be done prior to the FTX).

3. Sleeping pad, foam or inflatable.

4. Spare plastic bags to store clothing in during field exercises (Lawn & leaf, and Ziploc bags of assorted size).

5. Food for two days (at least 5 meals) in addition to that on the search load (MRE preferably, or other long life food that does not have to be cooked in preparation for eating. Cadets are expected to have five meals in the field).

6. Spare water container bring at least one jug of water to refill you canteen occasionally.

7. Spare boots laces.

8. Tent.
