Tentative Agreement- Latest Position on Pay Increase/ketro

Brothers and Sisters,
The Company has taken a position that the pay increases
and retro checks will be on the check dated 11/23/01.
The cictual pay rates wi I I beeffective 11/10/01 that
wi II be reflected in the November 23, 2001 check.
According to the Company Payroll is behind due to the layoffs
and the PA adjustments.
The Union has had numerous discussions with the Company
to resolve what is involved in collecting the retro pay
and the application of the current rates. We are continuing
these discussions with the Company Payroll department in
order to resolve the effective date and the time f rome
until the retro is received.
We are waiting word f rom Jim Little as to the f inal disposition.
We know this is f rustrating, and we would ask everyone
to be patient. We will notify you as soon as we know the
final disposition.
There does seem to be inconsistencies with the retro application,
the best source of inf orrnation for Determining whether
or not you are receiving any retro or pay increases is the
Company's "epays" electronic pay statement.
Attached is the Company's position on the Petro Calculation
for Mechanic and Pelated Agreement.

Eligibility
Active, retirees and laid off employees in the following
groups covered under the Mechanic and Pelated contract:
Aviation Maintenance Technician - Line Plant Maintenance
Mechanic
Aviation Maintenance Technician - Overhaul Utility Man -
Plant Maintenance Parts Washer Overhaul Sut)i)ort Mechanic

The retro portion of the check dated 11/23/2001 will be
listed by wage type. The tax rate will be the supplemental
rate of 27.5% for the retro portion.
The retro will exclude prior period corrections for periods
other than the retro period but adjusted between 3/t/2001
and 11/14/2001.
Prior period corrections adjusting hours between the dates
of 3/t/2001 and 10/26/2001 will be considered in the calculation
of the retro if they are entered in AutoTA prior to November
14, 2001.
Items included in retro calculation: 1. Increase in chart
rates
2. Compounding of license premium 3. Compounding of skill
premium 4. Increase in Line premium
5. Crew Chief premium increase
The above will be applied to all hours worked and/or paid
since 3/t/01
Midnight Petention Premium (MPT) for Line AMTs and the
Certificate Use Premium (AM4) for Facility/Automotive Mechanics
These new premiums are now available in AUTOTA and can
be used for pay purposes
