- October 12, 2001 - 2:59 PM

October 12, 2001

Brothers and Sisters,

The Company has taken a position that the pay increases and retro checks will be on the check dated 11/23/01.

The cictual pay rates wi I I beeffective 11/10/01 that wi II be reflected in the November 23, 2001 check.

According to the Company Payroll is behind due to the layoffs and the PA adjustments.

The Union has had numerous discussions with the Company to resolve what is involved in collecting the retro pay and the application of the current rates. We are continuing these discussions with the Company Payroll department in order to resolve the effective date and the time f rome until the retro is received.
We are waiting word f rom Jim Little as to the f inal disposition. We know this is f rustrating, and we would ask everyone to be patient. We will notify you as soon as we know the final disposition.

There does seem to be inconsistencies with the retro application, the best source of inf orrnation for Determining whether or not you are receiving any retro or pay increases is the Company's "epays" electronic pay statement.

Attached is the Company's position on the Petro Calculation for Mechanic and Pelated Agreement.

Fraternally,
