Instrument Panel (Mar 26, 2004)

I put the Dynon, radio, and transponder in to see how it would look. Still need to do some wiring on the Dynon and transponder so they'll come out again. The Dynon actually replaces the blind altitude encoder that you usually connect to the transponder. So that saves the $300 for an encoder. Last night I actually flipped on the master switch and turned on the instrument lights. All the lights worked and no smoke so that's a good sign. The engine instruments don't have senders connected so they all pegged out.

Here's the Dynon EFIS. A pricey gadget but it saves some money on a vacuum system and encoder. It's got an artificial horizon, airspeed, vertical speed, heading, voltmeter, turn corrdinator, g-meter, and even electronic checklists.

There are more wires than I had expected. Each engine instruments has six wires.
