And I thought the Davenport show was good....Tonight's show kicked the Davenport show's ass. Davenport was obviously a sub-par show, even though I thought it was pretty good. It's pretty amazing that a mediocre preformance for VAST would trump most other bands' best performances. They totally blew me away tonight. There were quite a few people there for the show. I would call it comfortably crowded. There was room to move but the crowd was a good size. There was one asshole in the crowd who kept yelling at the opening bands, telling them to get off the stage or whatever. Other than that it was a friendly crowd.
The Davenport show was pretty stripped down and focused on just the band and the instruments on stage, which was cool. Tonight's show had a lot more samples mixed in with the performance. There were more layers to the songs. The set seemed a lot harder than the Davenport show, even though it was mostly the same. I think the setlist was basically the same as the Seattle download, except the order was switched for the MFP tracks. I was hoping to hear "I Woke Up LA," but maybe next time. I got to meet Faye (aka waking believing running) from the VAST message board, which was pretty cool. Jon gave me a hug when I talked to him after the show. He's so great! I really appreciate the little things he does for his fans. If only all artists were as accessible as he is..,..
