| NEGAUNEE - Michael A. Symons, 41, of Route 1, Box 414, Midway Location, Negaunee, died Friday afternoon from injuries sustained in an automobile crash near Republic. Born Dec. 13, 1951 in Ishpeming, he was a son of John R. and Mary Louise (Leveillie) Symons. He was raised in Negaunee and was a 1970 graduate of Negaunee High School. He worked in retail management for 13 years before joining Pamida Discount Center as a store manager in Albia, Iowa for five years. He returned to this area seven years ago and was employed as a carpenter with Associated Constructors, Beauchamp Construction, Jims's Building and Remodeling and many other firms and individuals. He had recently received a independent contractor's license and was an avid hunter, outdoorsman and builder. Surviving are his wife, Marianne; two sons, Sean, at home and Jeremy of Ishpeming; three daughters, Michele of Marquette, and Tracie and Mary, both of Ishpeming; his father, of Negaunee; two brothers, John R. Jr. and Robert, both of Negaunee; four sisters, Kathleen Symons, Mrs Howard (Patricia) Garbett, Mrs. Joseph (Sherree) Pelletier and Mrs. Keith (Julie) Heidtman, all of Negaunee; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1975. Private services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Koskey Funeral Home of Negaunee. Burial will be in the Negaunee Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. |
