Mrs. Mary E. Stickney, widow of Frank Stickney Sr., died unexpectedly at 8 yesterday morning in her residence at 711 N.Fourth St. She was 78.
Mrs. Stickney was born Feb. 13, 1878, in Menominee, and was a resident of Marquette 65 years.
She was a member of St. Peter's Cathedral, the Alter Society o fSt. Peter's, the Womens Catholic Order of Foresters, the Daughters of Isabella, and the Womens Relief Corps.
Survivors are six daughters: Mrs. James (Myrtle) Ghiardi, Mrs.Paul (Bernadette)
Jones, and Mrs. Leo (Hazel) Schunk, Marquette; and Mrs. Roy(Loretta) Nault,
Mrs. Paul (Florence) Matte, and Mrs. Lloyd (Aileen) Vashaw, Detroit; two sons, J. LeRoy, Detroit, and Frank L. Jr., Marquette, and 15 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 9 Friday morning in St. Peter's Cathedral. A solemn requiem high mass will be offered for the deceased. Burial will be made in Holy Cross Cemetery.
The body is in the Tonella's Funeral Home, where friends may call after 7 this evening. At 8:15 this evening the Rosary will be recited for the deceased.
