| ISHPEMING - Ethel D. Saari, 70, of Route 1, Box 13, Champion, died Sunday morning, April 24, 1994, at Marquette General Hospital, where she had been a patient for 1 1/2 weeks. Mrs. Saari was born May 13 1923, in Champion to the late Michael and Jennie (Jolgren) Suobank. She was a lifelong area resident. She graduated from Champion High School in 1941 and was an avid bowler in the Ishpeming women's bowling league. Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Alfred; two daughters, Gerry (Charles) Keranen of Ishpeming and Jenny (Don) Maki of Negaunee; a son, Alfred Richard Saari of L'Anse; two sisters, Matilda Grund of Diorite Location and Sylvia Moseler of Marquette; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 1 p.m. today in the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home in Ishpeming with the Revs. Wallace Leno and Lauri Maki officiating. Burial will be in Champion Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Michael, Daniel and Jason Keranen and Mark and Matthew Maki. |
