| PELKIE- Services for Mary M. Peterson will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Most Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church of Assinins with the Rev. Larry Abler officiating. Spring burial will be in Pelkie Cemetery. Friends can call fro 6 ot 9 p.m. Sunday at the Sirard Funeral Home in Baraga, where a prayer service will take place at 8 p.m. Mrs. Peterson, 52 of Pelkie died Thursday at Baraga County Memorial Hospital. She was born Oct 22, 1936, in Baraba County to Edward and Florence (Dompier) LaBeau. She graduated from Baraga High School in 1955. She worked as a cook at Winkler Nursing Home and Ojibwa Senior Citizens Center, and worked as a shift manager at New Day Treatment Center. She was a member of Most Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Assisins. She married Reuben Peterson on April 28, 1956, in Baraga. He died Jan 11, 1987. Her parents and a brother also died before her. Survivors include five sons, Reuben of Ishpeming, Joseph of Baraga, Steve of L'Anse and Dale and John, both of Pelkie' a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Cheryl) Collins of Ishpeming; a sister, Sharon Piper of Florida; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. |
