HERBERT C. MURRAY
BOYNTON BEACH, FL--
  Herbert C Murray, age 76, formerly of Michigamme, Mi passed away February 1. 2002 at his home at 606 S.W. 15 th St. Boynton Beach, Fl following a brief illness.
  Herb was born on August 29, 1925 in Ishpeming, Mi, the son of Clarence & Dolores (Diedrich) Murray.  He was a graduate of Michigamme High School and Coyne Electrical School before enlisting in the U.S. Navy.  After his tour of duty he attended Ferris State University.  On October 21, 1950 he married Mary Welcher of Wayne, Mi.  He resided in Michigamme for 29 years as owners of Herb & Mary's Bar & Restaurant.  Buring the time he served several terms as Commander of the American Legion Anderson Paquette Post #339.  He was also a member of the Michigamme Fire Department.
  In 1979, Herb & Mary moved to Florida where he was employed by Beach Point Condominiums in Palm Beach for 22 years before retiring in Jamuary.  While in Florida he was a member of American Legion Post #47 & #164 and the VFW Post #5335.  He was a member of San Isidro Catholic Church in Pompano Beach, Florida.
  Herb is survived by his wife Mary Murray of Boynton Beach, two sons; Gordon (Sherry) Murray & Guy (Diane) Murray both of Diorite, Mi.  two daughters; Virginia (Paul) Olson of Michigamme, and Victoria (Charles) Ricketts of Ishpeming, a son in law Thomas Mroz of Mount Morris, Pa, 18 grandchildren & 10 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his daughter Katherine Mroz, granddaughter Rachael Ricketts and great granddaughter Kathryn Ann Smith.  Herb will be remembered by many as a kind and generous man always willing to give of himself.
  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 Friday, February 8, 2002 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Champion with the Rev. Monsignor Peter Oberto officiating.  Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Michigamme.
  Friends may call on Thursday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home where a parish wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. also friends may call at the sacred Heart Catholic Church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
  Pallbearers will be Harold "Bub" Welcher, John Ilves, Alex Guizzetti, Wilson Boback, Art Benson, & Kenneth "Swede" Bennon.
