| L'Anse - A funeral Mass for Lorraine LeClaire will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in L'Anse with the Rev. Guy Thoren as celebrant. Burial will be in the L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. LeClaire, 68, of L'Anse, died Monday at Baraga County Memorial Hospital. Born June 21, 1922, in Crosby, Minn., a daughter of the late Clara (Dompier) and Alcid LaCosse, she came to L'Anse from Michigamme with her parents in 1929. She was a 1941 graduate of L'Anse High School, and on Jan 15, 1944, married Clarence LeClaire. She worked as a waitress at various restaurants in the L'Anse area and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and its alter society. She was active in the Community Coupon Volunteer Group. Surviving are her husband, Clarence; a daughter, Mrs. Brian (Helen) Giroeano of Staten Island, N.Y.; a brother, Raymond LaCosse of Raleigh, N.C.; four sisters, Donna Jones of San Diego, Calif., Ardell Oberdas of Thiensville, Wis., Betty Lou Carr of Rochester and Lola Hebert of Baraga; two grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. A brother and sister preceded her in death. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 this evening at the church, where a prayer service will be at 7 and a rosary at 8. The Jacobson Funeral Home of L'Anse is in charge of arrangements. |
