Marquette Area Man Dies Of
Sustained In Logging Mishap At Sawmill
  Anthony E. LaCosse, 45, of County Road 550 (Halfway), Marquette, died early Saturday morning in St. Luke's Hospital of injuries sustained in an accident at the Ahonen Lumber Co, sawmill here.
        
Sheriff's department officers said the mishap occurred around 4:45 Friday afternood, while Mr. LaCosse was unloading a truckload of logs at the mill. A log fell on him.
  
He was brought to St. Luke's and died the following morning.  An autopsy was conducted by Dr. Arthur L. Amolsch, Marquette, county medical examiner.
World War II Veteran
  Mr. LaCosse was born Feb 17, 1915 in Michigamme and had been a lifelong resident of the area.  He was a veteran of World War II and had served in the U.S. Army Air Corps.  For several years he had been employed as a truck driver.
   Survivors are his wife, Helen; three sons, Douglas, in the United States Navy, and stationed in San Diego, Calif.; Joseph, Imperial Beach, Calif., and Albert, L'Anse; three daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Geraldine) St. Andre, North Lake; Miss Mary Jane LaCosse, Ishpeming, and Miss Helen Betty LaCosse, L'Anse; his mother, Mrs Clara LaCosse, L'Anse; a brother, Raymond, Ypsilanti; six sisters, Mrs. Donald Berquist, Romulus, Mich,;  Mrs Clarence LaClaire, L'Anse; Mrs. E. W. Jones, Hayword, Calif.; Mr.. Joseph Overdas, Milwaukee; Mrs. Henry Carr, Rochester, Mich., and Mrs. Lowell Herbert, L'Anse; two stepdaughters, Miss Evelyn Garceau and Miss Dorothy Garceau, Marquette; a stepson, Joseph Garceau, Marquette, and three grandchildren.
Services in L'Anse
  The body was taken to the Fassbender Funeral Home, where friends may call this afternoon and evening.
   The body will be taken to the Swanson Funeral Home, L'Anse tomorrow afternoon, where friends may call tomorrow evening.  the Rosary will be recited at 8 tomorrow evening.
   Services will be held at 9 Wednesday morning in the Swanson Funeral Home, L'Anse.  The Rev. Armour Roberts, Sacred Heart Church, L'Anse, will officate.  Burial will be made in Evergreen Cemetery, L'Anse
