| NEGAUNEE- Florence M. Kurin, age 77, 708 Empire St., Ishpeming, died at 8:35 p.m. Monday, August 18, 1997 at the Bell Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Florence was born May 25, 1920 in Negaunee to Wilfred & Eva (Olver) Dompierre and was a life long area resident. She was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Women's Catholic League, the Bell Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and was a homemaker. Surviving are one son, Alvar (Nancy) Kurin, Eben, one daughter, Joan (James) Alongo, Ishpeming, seven grandchildren, Larry (Kelly) Kurin, Amy (Michael) Tiedt, Brian Kurin, Douglas (Bobbi Jo) Anderson, Thomas, Justina & Lynn Anderson, four great-grandchildren: Justin & Jennifer Anderson, Lydia & Elizabeth Kurin, several nieces & Nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvar Kurin in 1986, 10 brothers & 1 sister. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at St. John's Catholic Church with Rev. Peter Oberto officiating. Burial will be in the Ishpeming Cemetery. Pall bearers will be grandsons; Douglas & Thomas Anderson, Larry & Brian Kurin, Michael Tiedt, and David Helsten. Friends may call at the Koskey Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday where a parish prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m. and from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service on Thursday at the church. |
