| MICHIGAMME - Wesley Howe of Michigamme died last night in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Iron Mountain, where he had been a patient two weeks. He was 79. Before being hospitalized in Iron Mountain, Mr. Howe ahd been a patient at Woods VA Hospital in Wisconsin for five weeks. He was born Dec 18 1895, in Eagle Mills and had lived in Michigamme 78 years. Mr. Howe was a veteran of World War I, a member of the American Legion, and a member of St. Agnes' Catholic Church in Michigamme. He was employed by the Soo Line Railroad for 20 years as a section hand, retiring in 1954. Surviving are the widow, Eleanor; three sons, Myles, James and John, all of Michigamme; a daughter, Mrs. Archer (Agnes) West, living in Ohio; a brother, Russell Howe of Michigamme; two sisters, Mrs. Vertin (Alice) Boyer and Mrs. Lottie Remortel, both of Marquette, 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Serviced will be held at 10 Friday morning in St. Agnes' Church, Rev. John Shiverski officiating. Burial will be made in Lake View Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home in Ishpeming and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the church in Michigamme. Liturgical services will be held at 8 tomorrow night in the funeral home. |
