Gary Allivian Hill
  HONOLULU, HI - Gary Allivian Hill, age 52 of Honolulu died March 31, 1999 at the Tripler Army Hospital.  He was born in Detroit, Mi on August 11, 1946.  Gary was a retired master sergeant with the U.S. Marine Corps, servinf 22 years of duty.
  Gary spent many boyhood summers in the U.P. where he loved fishing, hunting and spending time with his uncle.  Master Sergeant Hill served his country in the Vietnam conflict where he received numerous accolates which included the Purple Heart Medal.  Gary had a deep love for Hawaii & the ocean where he & his wife, Karen, lived on their sailboat.
   Gary is survived by his wife Karen of Honolulu, 2 sons Paul & Scott Hill, brother Randy Strong. sister Anna Mattson of Negaunee, uncles Edward Howe of Diorite and Robert LaForge of Republic and nieces & nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father Nels A Hill of Republic & his mother Pauline (Howe) Hedelsky of Detroit.
  Funeral services were held at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl.  Memorial donation can be made in his name to the local red cross.
