| NEGAUNEE - James L. Dompierre, 77, of 1008 Pine St., Negaunee, died Sunday evening, Dec 3, 1995, at the Americana Health Center, Appleton, Wis., where he had been a patient for one week. Born Jan. 19, 1918 in Negaunee, to Wilfred and Eva (Oliver) Dompierre, he was a lifelong resident of Negaunee. He graduated from Negaunee High School and worked as an accountant for Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. until retiring. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Negaunee, and was an altar server there for many years. He was a member of the Negaunee Elks Lodge, where he was past exulted ruler, past state president, and past grand esteemed lecturing knight. He was a former Marquette County supervisor, county board chairman and past member of the State Social Services Commission. Survivors include a son, James (Judith) Dompierre of Middletown, N.J.; a daughter, Peggy (Norman) Munson of Appleton; a brother, Clement (Florence) Dompierre of Sun City, Ariz.; a sister, Florence Kurin of Ishpeming; two grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was prededed in death by his wife, the former Elizabeth J. Lenten in 1987; a sister; and eight brothers. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Koskey Funeral Home Negaunee, with a 6:30 p.m. Negaunee Elks Lodge service and a 7:30 p.m. parish prayer service. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Pauls's with the Revs. John Shiverski and Emmett Norden officiating. |
