Vertin J. Dobbs
  NEGAUNEE - Vertin J. Dobbs, 72 of 231 W. Washington St., Marquette, died yesterday morning in the Orchard Rest Home, where he had been a patient three weeks.  He had been ill for 14 months.
   Born April 19 1903, in Negaunee, he lived here until moving to Marquette 10 years ago.
   Mr. Dobbs was a member of St Paul's Catholic Church in Negaunee and had been employed at the Acocks Medical Facility before retiring in 1960.
   Surviving are the widow, Hazel; a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Johnson of Negaunee; four sons, Vertin P. and Francis of Negaunee and John and Raymond of Kenosha, Wis.; 16 grandchildren; a brother, Clarence of Midland; four sisters, Mrs. Henry (Edna) Normand of Marquette; Mrs. Vern (Elsie) Trombly, living in Wisconsin, and Mrs. Luella Taylor and Mrs. Helen Young, Los Angeles, and sereral nieces and nephews
   Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Paul's Church, Rev. William Richards officating.  Burial will be in the Negaunee Cemetery.
   Pallbearers, all grandsons, will be Richard, Lawrence, Robert, Ronald and Roy Dobbs and Patrick DeWitt.
   Friends may call at the Koskey Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.  Liturgical services will be held there at 8 tomorrow night.
