| MARQUETTE - A Mass of Christian burial for Florence E. Coppens will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael Catholic Church in Marquette. The Rev. John Shiverski will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Marquette. Mrs. Coppens, 83, of 1540 W Ridge St., Marquette, died Wednesday evening at home. Born Aug. 11, 1907, in Negaunee to Albert and Mary (McGinnis) Leveille, she was a lifelong Upper Penninsula resident. Before retiring, she owned and operated a beauty salon in the Nester Block in downtown Marquette for several years. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and a former member of the church's altar society and the Daughters of Isabella. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Craig (Mary Elizabeth) Andrews of Bloomington, Minn.; two grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Howard L Coppens, died Feb. 18, 1983. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 this evening at the Canale-Tonella Funeral Home in Marquette, where a prayer service will be at 6 p.m. |
