LESSON OF WAITING
INTRO: They say, NO PAIN NO GAIN! So true, Growing up also includes times of pain. Nobody ever escapes the process. We simply cannot become the people of GOD meant us to be without some headaches and heartaches. Even Jesus Christ our Lord learned obedience from the things which He suffered (Heb. 5:8).

This is one of the Series of Lessons about life in Gods family a life of disappointments, mistakes, struggles, hardships, and misunderstandings. The summarization of these lessons is that, not a moment, however, is spent apart from Gods watchful eye. I hope, and pray that each message will bring you reassurance and renewed determination to Hang Tough.

A. WAITERS IN THE SCRIPTURES

To begin our journey into the subject of Waiting on God, let us take a quick look at those people who learned the lesson of waiting from ordinary people, who became spiritual giants.

1.Noah -120 Year
2.Job
3.Abraham -(Genesis. 11:27-12:4 )
4.Joseph
5.Moses  - 80 Years(40 years in Egypt; 40 years in the desert )
6.Paul  - 3 Years in the Arabian Desert with Gamaliel .
7.Jesus - 3   3 Years with His Disciples.

B.WHAT TO DO WHILE WAITING

In Psalm 62, we find a very  helpful and I might add,  simple outline to  guide our thinking with regard to victorious.

1.Wait For God To Direct Our Steps - (Psalm 62:1,5)
Dont run ahead, Wait! A yellow light means wait, watch carefully. You can not wait and run at the same time. Here, as if David was talking to himself:   Soul, Self, listen! You do what youve been told!  So, here he was saying: Wait for God to direct your steps.

2. Trust God to provide Your Needs  -(Psalm 62:1-2)
When we wait for God to direct our steps, He does. When we trust Him to meet our needs, He does. Someone has expressed this encouraging thought ( and I believe that they are just timely ) : God in His love always wills what is best for us. In His wisdom He always knows what is best, and in His sovereignty He has the power to bring it about.

3. We must Wait in Stability and Confidence on Him
There is sense of stability in trusting the Lord. Thats how we should wait. Silently, and with a sense of confidence. Today, there are various types of so-called wait-ers.  A)Impatient Wait-ers.  B)Complacent Wait-ers.  C)Serious Wait-ers.

CONCLUSION  :

There are three direct applications to be found in verse 8 of Psalm 62. As we conclude this lesson, let us ponder them in our hearts. May they serve as guiding lights in our Christian walk as we wait on the Lord.
I.Waiting involves Trusting.
II.Waiting includes Praying.
III.Waiting implies Resting.
