Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park

The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park is located about 50 km north of the city of Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Philippines. It features a limestone karst mountain landscape with an 8.2 km. navigable underground river. A distinguishing feature of the river is that it winds through a cave before flowing directly into the South China Sea. It includes major formations of stalactites and stalagmites, and several large chambers. The lower portion of the river is subject to tidal influences. At the mouth of the cave, a clear lagoon is framed by ancient trees growing right to the water�s edge. Monkeys, large monitor lizards, and squirrels find their niche on the beach near the cave.

El Nido

El Nido is a protected area located in the northernmost part of Palawan mainland, Western Philippines. Its ecosystem contains 250 million year-old limestone cliffs, 888 species of fish, 447 species of coral, 114 species of bird, 5 species of marine turtle and 2,645 hectares of mangrove forest. It has 3 major archeological excavation sites: Pasimbahan Cave in Bgy. New Ibajay, Sibaltan Open Site in Bgy. Sibaltan, and Ille Rockshelter in Bgy. New Ibajay.The annual excavations led to the discovery of 14,000 year-old human remains, 9,000 year-old cremation sites and 11,000 year-old tiger bones in New Ibajay and a Pre-Hispanic trading community in Sibaltan.

Tabon Cave

Tabon Caves is located in Lipuua Point, Quezon Palawan. It is about 155 KM south of Puerto Princesa. It is situated in the mountainous cape of Lipuan Island which composed of 29 caves. One of the important Caves is the Guri Cave, located in Lipuua Point, Quezo. It is also considered as the home of the early people. The Tabon Cave is facing the South China Sea. Its named was derived from a large footed bird that lay its eggs on the Cave floors.

Calauit Island Wildlife Sanctuary

Calauit Island Wildlife Sanctuary situated in Busuanga, Palawan in northern Calamines Island is one of the popular tourist destination in Palawan. It is the home of exotic and rare animal species that roam freely in the verdant hills and plains. This 3700 hectare large Calauit Island is the Sanctuary of African and Palawan wildlife threatened with extinction.Palawan Monkeys, Palawan Parrots, Palawan Bear Cat, Palawan Peacock, Mongoose, Scaly, Ant Eater, Porcupine and Mouse Deer lives together with African animals from Kenya like Giraffes, Zebras, Impalas, Waterbucks, Bushnacks, Gazelles, Elands and Topis.

Coron Reefs

The Palawan Coron Reefs is comprised of 7 lakes surrounded by majestic cliffs made out of limestone. Considered one of natures wonders, the Palawan Coron Reefs has drawn tourists to its location to view its beauty. Aside from the Palawan Coron Reefs, among the other things that can be seen here are the beaches, the birds found only in Palawan, hot springs and because of mountainous terrain, visitors are welcome to go trekking or mountain climbing. If that type of natural high is not for you, take a dip in one of the hot springs like the Makinit Hot Spring and the resort that houses these has wide saltwater pools that can relax tight and tired muscles.
