HOME Tools  of  The  Trade
Nylon Glove: I wear this glove to pevent the oil from transferring to the paper. It is more convent than using a peice of paper.
Pen & Pencils: I try to use a H-pencil or harder.  This smudges less and stays sharp longer.  The pen are 0.25 and 0.30 Koh-i-Noor and 0.18 Staedtler.  I find that the Staedtler pen requires less cleaning.
Drawing Board: I was using such a board ever since I started drawing.  Since I never had a desk or room of my own,  I carried the "desk" with me.  These days I still use a drawing board since it allows me to draw anywhere (babysitting, watching TV).  When the kids were small, I could place the whole thing up on top a cabinet and out of reach.
Paper: 11 by 14 inches, 50 sheets, made especially for pen&ink.  Perfectly white  and very very smooth.
Ink: I usually buy Koh-i-Noor or Rapidograph ink, black.  I inscribe the date of purchase.
Tissue Square: I keep small folded squares of tissue paper on my drawing board. On these I wipe the dried ink that accumulates at the tip, which wouldmake the line wider.
Wire  Filament:
This tiny wire is small enought to fit into the tip of the nib.  It is the
only thing which can unclog my 0.18 mm nib.  Not available in any store.
Brushes: I use these brushes to clean the inside of my pens every time I change the ink.  The wrench is to unscrew the pen nibs.  Once clean, I dry everything with lint-free paper.
I make it a point to buy my art supplies from a small     store at downtown Montreal , the British Blue Print
