| My Inner Darkness I walked alone in a forest of whispers, Under stars would I find what I sought. I remembered his eyes burnt dead cinders, When his phantom would never be caught. In this tragic arrangement of foresight, Wicked eyes from the trees saw their prey. Heaven left and deserted this dark night, And I knew why he wished not to stay. All I saw was bereft of all glory, Twisted roots writhed in pain at my feet. Lost in pride of its victims cold story, Snow pale skin of a ghost so petite. I was drawn to his sorrow through shadows, Where the killing moon shone from above. I was lost in this woodland of echoes, Never entered by elegant love. Every step lead my closer to darkness, Dissconnected I felt his heart slow. Different memories observed in this fair mess, And I knew what nobody could know. In this dream land his soul belonged to me, Nothing ever could hide in its grace. Yet I still sensed his smile couldn't be free, And his mind kept him trapped in this place. This dark forest was filled with soft starlight, Watchful eyes peered behind hidden shade. My enchantment I'd made from deepest night, Where his torment of mind wouldn't fade. I crossed over the border of nightmares, Here to find what I'd sought from the start. There I saw him consumed by his dark prayers, Never willing to play his last part. In my mind I saw his black enigma, Silent stars of creation would tell. This cold place was devoid of all anger, Godless souls left its visions of hell. Yet it seamed such an image of beauty, Cruel perfection was found at this site. In my eyes heaven stood for me to see, Even though his pain chased out the light. I knew nothing ever was perfect, But amidst all this sorrow was peace. I was waitning to see his last project, But I saw that his greif wouldn't cease. This strange world was dying of heartache, It's sweet screams fell onto deaf ears. As I feared the reflection of daybreak, Gentle snow bled discrete scarlet tears. I knelt down beside his frail figure, Saw his faith within his blackened eyes. By the touch of his hand I was wiser, And he told me the mind never lies. Morgan - 20/05/04 |
