MINI-BIO'S...(VOLUME 11)
LENNY LeBLANC: "All My Dreams" is Lenny's second
single on
Positive Country his first, "Carpenter's Son" went to number one on the
Christian Country Research Bulletin chart and number two on the newly
syndicated Best
Country Countdown Show. Teamed with long-time friend, producer Mac
McAnally, LeBlanc
weaves his way through a variety of musical styles and tones with this
current project ALL
MY DREAMS on integrity Music. Lenny's past accomplishments give him
great credibility as
an artist and songwriter. He has sung backup for Roy Orbison, Mac
Davis, Mac McAnally,
Shennendoah, and Amy Grant, to name a few. Lenny has also written songs
for Ricky Skaggs,
Roy Orbison and Susie Luchsinger.
MID SOUTH: Finally the much awaited release of Mid
South's newest
project on Warner Alliance is now here. This debut project GIVE
WHAT IT TAKES on
Warner Alliance, represents a new sound for the band, which according
to lead singer Kent
Humphries, "It's really on the edge of country.." . The trio of Kent
Humphries
(vocals, guitar), brother Darren Humphries (vocals, drums) and Bobby
Bowen (vocals, bass)
continue the musical direction that Mid South started in the mid-1980's
combining their
love for playing country music with their roots in Christian music, but
with a more
progressive modern sound. Robbie McGee, a long-time member of the group
retired from
touring this year after a 1989 diving accident, but was still a major
contributor to this
new project.
DINAH & THE DESERT CRUSADERS: This is also
their second release on
Positive Country, with the first "Water The Desert" going to number 2
on the
CCRB chart. This release "I Believe Heaven Is Real" also has great
potentia1 to
continue massive air play and changing possibilities. "One of the
hottest new
Christian country groups on the music scene today!" According to the
1993 Christian
country radio station of the year, KPBC-AM Dallas TX. "I think Dinah
and the Desert
Crusaders will be front runners of Christian country music." David
Montgomery-owner,
The Lancaster Opry.
CLEVE FRANCIS: "Cleve Francis might be the only
singer to have
been on both 'Showbiz Today' and 'Medical Report'." (Angela
Rucker-Fairfax, VA JOURNAL)
Cleve picked up his first guitar, homemade, consisting of a cigar box
and wires from an
old screen, when he was just a small child. Later, his mother saved up
for a year to buy
him a real one. Though Cleve spent 15 years as a practicing
cardiologist, he never lost
the dream of singing. This first Positive Country single "It Ain't
Gonna Worry My
Mind" is a good example of his desire to sing music that uplifts and
challenges the
spirit and soul. Other great songs from Cleve's earlier Liberty
projects includes
"Love Light" and "Walkin".
STEVE HAMBY: Born and raised
in a small town
just outside of Muskogee Ok., Steve came from a rugged family of
commercial fishermen,
learning at an early age that life would not be easy. For 15 years he
made fishing his
main source of income, barely whittling out his meager living. When he
was 21 years old
and no training at all in music, he began to plunk on an old hand me
down guitar, so he
could join in with his family on Sundays as they played old Christian
hymns on the front
porch. Now many years later, through a lot of ups and downs in life,
and in his music
career, Steve considers it a privilege to touch lives with his music
and testimony.
JON STRIDER: This single "Straight Talkin' Machinery" is part of a four-song sampler introducing a new record, new company, and a collection of artists who have come together around a common them that is Kindred Way. The music is best described as Rhythm & Folk: American music painted over a bright and colorful canvas of silver-stringed guitars warmed with pianos, close harmonies, tambourines, basses and real drums-- music that speaks to the listener in a friendly narrative, like neighbor's voice over the back yard fence. Jon Strider co-wrote, produced, arranged and performed this song that in a sense allows you to use your own imagination as to the meaning of this "parable-story" song.
TED WHITE: He's a trial lawyer, a singer, songwriter, a devoted
family man and a man on
a mission to share what God has done for him. Ted excels in practicing
trial law. In one
of the most complicated civil cases in Texas state history, he
represented a number of
families against the alleged fraud by several major United States
corporations. Ted not
only received a favorable settlement for his clients, but gained
national notoriety for
his efforts. But he also loves singing and writing country cowboy
melodies and soul
stirring ballads. Tornado Saloon" is Ted's second single after the
successful
"Jesus Seeks You" debut. "Tornado Saloon" is not your normal song, but
give it a chance to be heard and listeners will catch its deep rooted
message of how wrong
choices can change your life forever.
BRENT LAMB: Born 34 years ago in Nashville to working class parents,
Lamb grew up
around a family of singers and pickers who loved to sing gospel But he
recalled never
having considered music as a career. But through an advertisement
posted on a bulletin
board at a Nashville grocery store, Brent connected with another
musician who wanted to
sing and travel. After a year and a half his musical partner filed for
bankruptcy, and
Brent was back home. Brent was working for his father when he first
realized God was
wanting him to use his talents again, full time. Since then that is all
he's been doing.
His songwriting skills goes before him with songs like "Army Of The
Lord",
recorded by Harvest, "Household of Faith" recorded by Steve Green, and
co-wrote
the hit song "My Turn Now" with Steven Curtis Chapman.
