Steve Hamby was born and raised in a small town just north of Muskogee Oklahoma. He was the son of a commercial fisherman, and just like Peter, made this his means of living for close to fifteen years.
In the early Seventies Steve began to play music as a hobby with members of the family and friends, with no ambition of any kind to seek a career, but his talent could not be easily overlooked, and it soon put him into a relationship that would never turn him loose again.
Over the next ten years he traveled many of the western states, using the dance halls and honky tonks to perfect his voice and put his first chart record very near the top.
In 1982 Steve finally made his way to Nashville and decided to make music his life long career. The move proved to be a rewarding experience as he appeared in the hottest spots in town at night and did studio work in the day. He landed his second chart record in 1983 which went number one in several states.
While at the brink of an almost certain career, Steve was introduced to a study of the Bible, which caused his entire life to make an abrupt turn in the opposite direction.
