| The Royal Marriages, Summary: Outline and Order of End Times Events The first four parts of "Royal Marriages" each dealt with their own specific themes, and so at times skipped around as to the chronological order of events. This summary will provide an outline of all the events discussed, placed in their proper sequence (with one partial exception, the Two Witnesses of Revelation 11). Each event will be prefaced by the corresponding verse(s) from the Book of Revelation. In effect, therefore, the following constitutes a brief commentary on the Book of Revelation, chapters 4-19. The Sequence of events in Revelation: Revelation 4-9 are written so as to provide a sequential outline of specific events. However, chapters 10-13 are more focused on themes. These themes each involve a series of related events that extend over a number of years. These thematic periods overlap each other, and also overlap some of the events in the earlier chapters. Because of this, the events foretold in chapters 10-13 could not effectively have been included in the sequential outline of chapters 4-9. Chapters 14-16 return to providing a sequential order of events; then 17-18 again focus on themes. Chapter 19 gives a summary and conclusion of the major events of 4-18. (Chapter 20 describes events after the conclusion of the Day of the Lord, during the ensuing Millennial Kingdom. Chapters 21-22 are post-Millennial. These things were not foreshadowed by any events of the Exodus era, so won't be included here.) The Judgment Throne of God Revelation 4:2-11 The Lord God is seated upon his throne, surrounded by the leading elders and angelic powers of his kingdom, who accord him glory and honor. This event was foreshadowed in the Mosaic era when the Lord revealed himself to Moses in fire on "the mountain of God." Ex. 3:1f. This same scenario, using some of the same key words and phrases as Rev. 4, was also foreshadowed in the third year of King Ahasuerus, during the time of Esther and Mordecai. At that time the great king sat upon his throne in glory, surrounded by his high officials. According to the 7 Times prophecy, the Latter Day fulfillment of this foreshadowing probably occurred in 2002 (but possibly in 2003). Esth. 1:2-4 Rev. 5 Jesus Christ, 'the slain Lamb,' comes before the throne, having "prevailed to open the scroll and loose its seven seals." This scroll from God's right hand (i.e., of power) represents covenant authority to rule. The slain Lamb is worthy to receive power because his blood has brought redemption, vss. 8, 12. In the Exodus era, the event was foreshadowed by the slaying of the first Passover lambs, whose blood God accorded as redemption for Israel's firstborn sons. That very night, the Destroyer slew all of Egypt's firstborn, defiling Egypt's temple-throneroom in the process. The Israelites then fled en masse from Egypt "in haste," and went out to meet their God and be joined unto him in a marriage covenant. Ex. 11:4 - 12:33; 13:12-15 In the Latter Days, right after the Lamb's blood is accepted in redemption for God's "firstborn," the Son of Destruction will defile the Holy Place on Earth with the Abomination of Desolation. God's people must then immediately flee Jerusalem and Judea, "for then shall be [the] Great Tribulation, such as was not from the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor shall ever be [again]." Matt. 24:15-21 This is the time Jesus foretold, in the parable of the ten virgins, when they will take their lamps and go out to meet the bridegroom. Matt. 25:1 Two years before the Israelite Exodus from Egypt, Moses and Aaron first came before the magisterial throne of the Egyptian (worldly) kingdom. There they sought that their people be allowed to serve the Lord according to his dictates. But Pharaoh judged against them, and instead increased the afflictions of the Israelites. Ex. 5 "At the end of two years" (in the Hebrew manner of speaking, this meant in the latter half of the second year), Moses and Aaron, God's two witnesses, began to call down plagues upon Egypt. The final plague, being the killing of all of Egypt's firstborn, resulted in the Exodus of the Israelites. Jasher 80:1f., Ex. 7:14f. Rev. 11:3-6 In the Latter Days, the Two Witnesses of Revelation 11 will prophesy for 1260 days. They too will "have power...to strike the earth with all plagues." If, as I believe, these two were foreshadowed by Moses and Aaron, then they will have come before an earthly magistrate, demanding that they and their people be allowed to serve the Lord according to his dictates. And they too will have been denied, and their people put under increased afflictions. And they too are not to call down plagues before at least 1-1/2 years of their ministry are fulfilled. More on the latter part of their ministry below. The Seven Seals: Trials and Purifications During the Great Tribulation Rev. 6:1-2 Jesus opens the First Seal on the scroll. A rider on a white horse "[goes] forth conquering, and to conquer." This will occur after the Abomination of Desolation, during the Great Tribulation. [I believe these things were also foretold in Daniel 11:44-45. An End Times ruler is there prophesied to "plant the tents of his palace...in the glorious holy mountain" = Jerusalem's Temple Mount. In my opinion, this act will be the Abomination of Desolation. At that time "he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and to annihilate many = the First and/or Second Seals."] These events were foreshadowed just days after the Exodus began (which commenced with the defilement of Pharaoh's temple-house), when Pharaoh and all of his host went forth to conquer the Israelites and bring them back into bondage. Ex. 13:1-9f. Rev. 6:3-4 Second Seal: a red horse, peace taken from off the earth, people kill one another. "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom." Matt. 24:7 1 About six days after the Exodus, these events were foreshadowed when the nation of Egypt attacked the nation of Israel. Ex. 14:14f.; Jash. 81:16f. (Other major wars between nations took place not long afterward.) Rev. 6:5-6 Third Seal, black horse: food scarcity and famine. Also Matthew 24:7 1 In Exodus 16:3f., the Israelites worried about starvation; 30 days into the Exodus. Rev. 6:7-8 Fourth Seal, pale horse: "sword...hunger...death...beasts of the earth." " Pestilences and earth-quakes;" Matthew 24:7. 1 Civil disorder will result in chaos, famine, and disease. This seal was foreshadowed when the Israelites complained and contended against the leadership of Moses at Meribah (Contention, Strife), where there was no water to drink. Ex. 17:1f. About 40 days into the Exodus. Rev. 6:9-11 Fifth Seal: religious persecution unto death of God's saints, "slain for the word of God," crying out for the Lord to "avenge [their] blood." This seal was foreshadowed when the sorcery-practicing nation of Amalek attacked and killed God's people, the Israelites. The Lord swore eternal vengeance against Amalek thereafter. Ex. 17:8f., Jash. 81:52f. 42-43 days into the Exodus. Continue Part 1, Royal Marriages Return to Index Return to Index page 2 |
