Some Haiku Poetry For R.E.M.

Competing With A Sylph

You want perfection.
The ever-eluvsive light.
May yours shine for years.

The Peter Principle

Lead guitarist's stance.
No nonsense from this artist.
Tells it like it is.

Not A "Paper Mills"

Catapult him high. Been unsung for far too long.
Affably takes it.

Migraine Boy

You truly scared us. But now you're totally healed.
Prayers were all answered.

"Old Rockers of the 90's?"

Nobody stays young. But music shows no wrinkles.
Give their all at shows.

Reflecting

Seventeen long years. Most bands'd killed each other.
More solid than Stones.

Future?

No-one can predict.
Though Warner Records sure did.
Contracts aren't a gift.

New Adventures In Hi-Fi

A beautiful work,
unfairly underrated.
Public's so fickle.

Out Of Time

Lost my religion. Obsessive love? I think not.
Called a "red herring".

Everybody Hurts

I stood on the ledge.
Everybody said to "jump!"
Michael pulled me back.

Why I Love R.E.M.

With me through rough times.
Their music soothed my demons.
In pychotic Hell.

Pretend I Am A World Leader

I tore down the wall.
Soon all will know my secrets.
R.E.M. was there.

These are just a few haiku poems to show you what this band means to me. They are more than a rock band---they are the reason I am here today. Thanks, guys.
