Stories about Chuck
Sharing memories of Chuck O'Connor.
Entry for April 17, 2007

Delaney draws me pictures

She finger paints the sand

We chase the dogs and hop like frogs

Then I do my bad handstands

She's growin' up too fast for me

And askin' lots of questions

Some I know the answers to

And some I'm lookin' for suggestions

Father, daughter

Born by the water

Surf's up, sun's down

Life in a beach town

And some of the things I've seen

Maybe she won't have to see

But there's a lot I want to pass along

That was handed down to me

Please write your memories of Chuck here, so we may hand them down to Delaney.

In Memoriam -- Chuck #2

Now you are together with Chuck #1.
Save some good seats for us in the wide blue yonder for when we join you--as we surely will.

Now we make do with golden memories of the times we spent with you, and some of the best times were in the air.

We salute you.

It took me a long time after your father left us to come to deal with the fact he is gone. In my life he has and is one of the most loved people I have known. We have memories that span over thirty years. He truely is and will always be one of my best friends. There are so many things we have shared; good, bad, happy, sad, personal. Things I know that where from our hearts and our souls. The love we shared for our daughters was beyond anything either of us could have ever imagined. This we agreed was our purpose, no matter what our choices have been. I will miss my freind, my brother. All my love spanky. We will meet again.

I had only known Chuck for a few years and it's apparent that he had the same effect on everyone. I had a great opportunity to stay with Chuck in January of this year and had an crazy time.... as usual. I even got to golf with him and can verify first hand, he had the sweetest baseball swing on the golf course! I miss his big laugh, his "YA BABY" and when you got off the phone he would always say "C-YA" Maybe most I regret not getting to know his daughter like most of you did; I have 3 boys of my own and every night we fold our hands and I smile when I hear my sons say "Pray for the O'Connor family" in our nightly prayers. I miss you Chuck, we will see each other again one day.

I hadn't seen Chuck in several years - our lives took different directions after playing football together in 8th grade. We all always really liked Chuck. He was always the kid who was a little bit cooler than the rest of us - from the way he dressed, the way he spoke, the girls and guys he knew, and the things he did - but always a gentleman. I'd run into him every 4 or 5 years and he always had a friendly "Hello, and where the heck have you been?". Chuck was a warm person and someone who was always intantly likeable when you met him. God Bless you and your family Chuck - we will miss you.

Wow, where to begin... I was one of Chucks roommates at Plymouth State at 51 Langdon Street. He is a great guy, and this came a shock to me and several other as we were in attendance at another funeral of close friends wife. Chuck will be missed by all his friends at PSC. All the times at the Cellar Pub, The Train, up in the Valley, and at the River Street condo!
God Bless Chuck, Delaney, and O'Connor Clan. You are in the Dolan Family's thoughts and prayers.

It has been one year since you left and went to heaven. Not a day goes by that our daughter Delaney doesnt talk about you or share a funny story about "her" Dad. You would be so proud of her. She is with out a doubt the bravest and strongest little girl ever. She is so full of love and life.
She out does her self every chance she gets. She has an unlimited amount of energy and the ability to talk about anything ALL OF THE TIME!
As you know she is doing great in school. At the top of her grade and reading at a second grade level. She has found a love of sports with football being her favorite this week. GO GIANTS! A lot of times she will ask " Mom, what do you think that Daddy and Poppa are doing right now? and then say "I know probably drinking vodka, smoking a cigar, playing with George, listening to Jimmy Buffet and watching the Giants. SHe always reminds me of how "her dad loves people!" She is truly amazing. We know that you are watching over us. We miss and love you more than you could imagine.
