In 1982, the Pontiac Firebird/Trans Am family of cars left the hairy chested "Smokey and the Bandit" era in the past and moved towards a more sophisticated, aerodynamically svelte, platform.
This particular example replicates the car that starred in the popular crime fighting TV show Knight Rider. This show turned many folks on to the Firebird. Some folks are even working hard to turn their Firebird into a replica of the KITT--the Knight Rider car.
