THE CORVETTE GALLERY (continued)
The 1963 Grand Sport Racing Corvette!

The Corvette's designer Zora Arkus-Duntov thought the Corvette should be a racer.  Five Grand Sport racing cars were built based on the 1963 Design.

It may have been called the Super Sport.  Here is a replica from

The 1978 Corvette!
Towards the end of the 70s, the "shark" evolved into a fast and sophisticated boulevard cruiser.  It was still capable of besting the best of the European sportscars on the track.  Nice examples can still be found at reasonable prices.

The 1995 Corvette ZR-1

The fifth generation Corvette produced an extremely potent ZR-1 version.  This one is a replica of the one used in the rather forgettable James Bond movie "A View to A Kill" which also featured the music of
Duran Duran.

The 1997 Corvette!
The C5 is the fifth generation of Vette.  Offering .93g's on the skidpad, a 172-mph top speed, and a 4.7 second sprint to 60 miles per hour.  This Corvette is truly a real competitor for the supercars of Europe. About 300 pounds of potential weight was cleverly shed from this design by making it too small for anyone over 6'2"....
Thanks you sick GM bums.....
