THE CHRYSLER GALLERY
The 1957 Chrysler 300C--

Billed as "America's Greatest Performing Car," the '57 Chrysler 300 featured a Firepower 90-degree V-8 with a hemispherical combustion chamber.

In the early 60s, a modified turbocharged Chrysler 300F did 190 miles per hour on the Bonneville Salt Flats.  The Chrysler 300-series and hemi engines are are real source of pride for MOPAR fans.

The 1955 Chrysler 300 --

Here is the amazing 1955 Chrysler 300 raced by Lee Petty, one of the great figures in American motorsports.  The legendary  Lee Petty amassed 54 wins in only 10 full seasons of racing.  More amazing is the Petty family heritage and racing dominance over three generations.  The legend that started with Lee Petty continued with his son Richard "King Richard" Petty.  Richard's son Kyle continued the tradition as a top NASCAR racer.  Kyle's son Adam Petty represented a promising fourth generation of racer and was preparing to step up into the top ranks of NASCAR competition.  Tragically, 19-year-old, Adam's career was cut short by a fatal crash during practice runs at New Hampshire International Speedway.  Even after 50 years and countless safety improvements, death and danger are still an integral part of the stock car driver's trade.

The legendary '55 Chrysler 300 pictured was powered by a 331 cubic inch V-8 with hemispherical combustion chambers and generated 300 horse power.  Before racing tweaks and modifications...

The replica from
Racing Champions (TM) was made to help celebrate  50 years of NASCAR racing by Petty Racing.
