On August 11, 2003, the frantic search to find Ardeth Wood came to an end when her naked body was discovered in Green's Creek, not far from where her bike was found earlier. Ardeth went missing shortly after leaving her family's Orl�ans home around noon for a bicycle ride along the parkways in Ottawa's east end, but never returned.
The search to find the twenty-seven year old philosphy student had been a rigorous & diligent effort on the part of the Ottawa community, as residents were shocked that such a thing could happen in what is regarded as a safe community. The search has resulted in being the largest search mission in Ottawa's history, and autopsy reports indicate she had met with "foul play" that afternoon.
Ms. Wood had returned home to Ottawa from the University of Waterloo for a two-week holiday before her disappearance.
Her killer is yet to be found, but she will forever remain alive in our hearts.
