I'm jealous of your freckles. They're so cute on the nose and cheeks, especially when you wrinkle up your nose to kiss me on my cheek.

I like big cotton socks on my feet. They let me wiggle my toes but keep them warm. But still they let me slide on hardwood floors, and let me creep upstairs unheard. And they're so soft.

Kids have a way of playing and talking to inanimate objects. When did you last offer some tea to Mister Bear?

I try writing with my other hand sometimes. It's not so easy, but it's a big accomplishment when I finish my name. I imagine it felt even better the very first time I wrote anything.

Give someone a hug. They need it, you need it. All it costs is your ego.

A walk outside is like a trip into another world. The same neighbors, the same roads, perhaps, but the wind is new nad the exhilaration is like nothing else.

Write down your fears, each on a separate piece of paper. Then read each one and tear it up, and recycle it into something useful.

Learn about a language you know nothing about. Learn a few words. Who are or were the people who speak this language everyday?

If I had a camera and endless rolls of film, I'd photograph the ants working and the dew, and I'd take thousands of pictures watching a flower bloom.

I keep a journal. I write my most private thoughts there. Everything about me is in there. Go on. Read it. If I keep the real me from you, how can you ever know me?

I fill my room with flowers and beautiful pictures so that I am never unaware of the beauty of nature.

Bubbles are fun. Be a child. Dip the stick in a blow a few. Watch the swirls of color and watch the bubbles rise and fall and pop. Dip your hand in soap and let a bubble rest calmly on your palm.

There's a great sense of accomplishment that comes from climbing - whether it's a tree or a fence or a mountain.

Listen to stories on the radio. I reminds me of my teachers who used to read to all of us aloud.

I read a little before bed. Books give me interesting dreams to ponder in my sleep.

I love to sit at the table with my family and talk about nothing in particular, but still laugh and tell jokes and reminisce.

They say you get better at telling jokes with practice. Tell even the most corny ones - it's worth it just to see them smile.

I love giving gifts. Boxes with pretty ribbons and flowery paper, with a little card. I love to watch my friends' faces as they open them and smile, knowing I picked the right thing.

Listen to the wise. They said it first, they were there, and they know better. Why make mistakes when someone else has already made them for you?

I make long lists: brush teeth, eat breakfast, shower, read newspaper, take out trash. It feels so good to cross something off.

There are so many beautiful shells on the beach - skeletons of creatures once alive. One must study them and remember the fragile lives of those beings.

I don't like war. But if a soldier is fighting and risking his life, I will write him a cheerful letter and hope for his safety.

Why argue over who is smarter or richer or better? Why snap when he pops his knuckes or has a funny accent? Stay calm and try to see what he's thinking. Talk it over, don't shout. Sometimes the solution is patience.

Read and read and read some more. Even in a spare moment, dive into another world, explore the unknown, ponder existence. And broaden your mind.

We are all learning all the time. Drink in a book, solve a puzzle, talk to your family - and you'll learn something new.

Always seek to challenge yourself with something new.

Stay busy - it will make you more productive and drive away the ghost of boredom. Nothing to do? Make something up.

Stop worrying. Now. Unwrinkle your eyebrows. Think of a field of yellow flowers and smile.

When you can, consider these questions: Who am I? Where am I from? Where am I going? What am I doing? Your answers may surprise you.

Even though your troubles are far from over, and sadness and fear overwhelm you, know that the sun shines, the earth turns, and all is really right with the world.

No one loves you, you say? No, you are wrong. Unconditionally, I love you for who you are inside.

Someone must save the lonely fallen man. Someone will do it. Let someone be you.

Why don't they send a person to right wrongs and save the world? They have. It is you.

There are thousands of children dying. No one can save them all from death. But you can save me - and I will be eternally grateful.

Why do you fear death? Why do you fear illness? Tell me. I will gladly trade you my health, my life, if you will be happier with mine.

I stepped into the water and waves lapped at my ankles. The mud squished between my toes and I was happy.

Drink lots of pure clean water. It makes up most of your body. Without it, there's very little of you left. But with it, you refresh your body and become whole again.

I listen to complex music. It pulls my mind together and wakes it from its slumber.

Sleep in inavoidable. It is so relieving to allow your eyes to close and your mind and body to sink into sleep.

A teddy bear is a faithful companion - he keeps secrets and always listens. Best of all, he's a soft comforting friend always ready for a tight hug.

Flowers and butterflies are the rainbow come alive. They grow and then emerge from hiding in a burst of delicate, brilliant color.

Come with me and I will show you what it means to be free.

Stay with me and I will give you all the freedom you need.

Time runs by - I miss the past, yet I can't wait for the future. And the present is lost in the pile.

Who can love like my dog? He is best friend, loyal to the end, compassionate, comforting, and playful. I'm afraid I'm not so good a friend.

The sound of evening crickets - a continuous symphony in the dark.

Buy me no more of anything. I have more than I use, more than I need, and I shall never want any less than I do now.

Look at the stars - there are so many, so beautiful. Some long gone, a window into eons past.

I will curl up on the rug by the fire, and yawn. Will you keep me company?
