The Remedy Yourself Beat-the-blues page. Feeling down? Learn here how to beat those sad blues and get
back your good old self.
Please read this first.
-
If you're feeling sad, don't be afraid to cry. It's okay to let
yourself go and sob it out. As you cry, think to yourself freely.
-
Write it out. Jut let your thoughts flow on paper. You can use a
tape recorder too.
-
Talk it out with someone neutral. Find a kind ear to listen and
just talk your heart out.
-
Turn on some music. Make it bright and peppy. Get up and
dance to it.
-
Do something fun and indulgent - like go buy yourself a new
pair of shoes, or eat a piece of chocolate. Do it with a friend or
close companion.
-
Play with a child or a pet. Children and pets are happy and
forget sadness easily.
-
Watch a funny movie, read a funny story. Read comics or jokes.
-
Reflect on why you're sad. If you were someone else, how would
you see your problem? What advice would you give yourself?
-
Go outside. Get some sunlight. If it's gloomy out, turn on all
the lights inside. Light brightens up the blues.
-
Smile. Laugh out loud. Make a conscious effort to do that.
You'll feel just a bit less blue instantly.
