Will America be Zechariah�s blessed nation, �demonstrating the fruits of the Kingdom�? It is yet to be seen. But my foolish heart says yes.
We are only now uncovering the mysteries of our own planet, much less those of the cosmos. As I write, scientists today discovered, far beneath the frozen surface of the Arctic Ocean, a �searing cauldron of activity, including numerous underwater volcanoes and deep-sea hot springs,� according to a Reuters report. Somewhere, H.G. Wells is grinning.
The hidden purpose of America is coniunctio, unification and transcendence of the warring opposites. America is the land where the hieros gamos, the sacred marriage, is to be held and consummated. Yet the Powers of America resist this with all their might, clinging to infantile conceptions of duality (my way/group is Good, your way/group is Evil) in order to stave off the hard work of swallowing the truths beyond the opposites: that good and evil are implicit in all beings -- including women, including mothers -- and that we each share responsibility for every monster and monstrosity on this planet.
America is the land where the last Scapegoat � The Evil Male -- is now attempting to integrate. If he can be freed, consciously and in full public sight, the dreams of Christ, of James Joyce, of Martin Luther King and ten thousand other heroes will be fulfilled. America can lead the planet beyond the nightmare of history that the opposites have wrought, bring heaven to Earth, and send Earth into the starry sky as a beacon in the Void.
With the nightmare of history has come the painfully slow bringing to consciousness of the heretofore unconscious process of scapegoating. Think of Junior Bush�s �evildoers,� and our own childish national assurance of our innocence and moral supremacy. To continue utilizing this process, in the very midst of our denial of it, places enormous psychic and physical strain on the nation, the race, and indeed on the planet. As yet, we are unwilling to release this primal human blankee, and until we do, the opposites will continue to polarize to extremes, like a rubber band stretched to snapping. The coming Genderwar between female and male will carry the bulk of this distension of duality.
The whipping of American men, and the annihilation of American manhood occurring in the past four decades, have forced crucial elements of masculinity to confront its true status in the culture. In fact, America does not care if its gutters, prisons and graveyards are clotted with males, any more than it cares if global war broke out tomorrow and a billion boys were sacrificed. Feminist America has shoved the true status of American manhood in the face of every male: women matter, men don�t. That must change. That will change.
Wotan�s coming. You can hate him. You can rail against him. You can deny him, pass laws to prohibit him, and imprison those who facilitate him.
You will fail. At the last, you�re going to have to deal with him. |
