Thus Genderwar will rage until the masculine can conjoin with the feminine not under the autocratic dictates of feminism, but in such way as permits male independence, so that the masculine feels safe in reuniting with the feminine without threat of complete re-absorption. For this, a homo noeticus, a filius macrocosmi, a New Man must be created. The dangers of attempted coniunctio lacking a liberated masculinity have been well demonstrated in American culture over the past four decades: covert totalitarianism, mass demeanment and imprisonment of males, the use of children as weaponry and tools of power, and the annihilation of authentic masculine elements.

In order for coniunctio to occur in America, it is men � not women � who must be liberated, freed from the innumerable cages in which they are bound � cultural, sexual, relational, emotional and material. Instead, in the modern West we plunge further in the opposite direction, into the hell of marginalizing and criminalizing the masculine. The Empowered Witch and her lackey, the Toxic King (inauthentic masculinity) don�t want men freed, for that means their Rule of Swords � of violence, of vengeance, of covert power � ends, and they must take their rightful place as servants, not leaders, on Earth.

The Empowered Witch and Toxic King do not want men and women to reunite, and thus the War in Heaven and on Earth rages. Western culture, and America in particular, is not yet mature enough to accept that there is an obstreperous, difficult, offensive, and even dangerous element of the masculine without which no village, culture, or planetary system can thrive. Fight Club�s Tyler Durden is not wanted here. But coniunctio will not take place until this scapegoated, demonized male element is welcomed into the human equation. The sol niger, �Satan,� is authentic masculinity in disguise, the sulphur that both cleanses and burns, as demonstrated in the scene from Fight Club when daemonic Tyler Durden initiates Jack into heroic manhood with a dose of lye. Coniunctio will occur when the �Devil� joins with his �heavenly� spiritual brother, when the daemonic is loved, and given its rightful place in human organization � not imprisoned, not tortured, not excluded, not marginalized, and most certainly not forced to be female.

At the core of the culture wars that atomize America is that Ur-maelstrom of the strife of the opposites, Genderwar. None of the other dilemmas posed by the antagonisms of the opposites � pollution, starvation, brutality, injustice � can be solved until the primal duality � the wound of gender -- is made conscious and healed. Until this happens, all Creation thrashes in agony.

Genderwar began in distant prehistory when males, seeking separation from matriarchal dominance, invented (or recovered) the preposterous notions of masculinity and individual ego consciousness, and thus inflicted the horrific � but necessary � original wound upon the species. Across cultures, mythology describes this break from maternal unconsciousness as the separation of male from female, light from dark, spirit from matter, heaven from earth, and so on. Genesis refers to it as the inceptive �knowledge of good and evil.� Certainly the wound of consciousness could be conceptualized as "original sin,� for to be conscious is to be in pain. But it is an absolutely indispensable �sin.�

Masculine consciousness split off from its unconscious, chthonic feminine origins. The world split in two, the cosmic egg cracked, and sentient dualism was born. Michael threw Satanael to Earth. The fruitful nightmare of history commenced.

Now re-integration must occur. When women and men solve the problem of Long Division, Earth is restored to Eden � this time under cognizant conditions. This means consciously abandoning patriarchal and matriarchal agendas to the higher necessities of both genders, and of the planet itself. We must transcend the opposites while not only retaining � but in fact glorying in � both their antagonistic and magnetic properties.

The exclusion and demonization in the modern West of the paternal, and of the masculine in general, has occurred across cultural contexts. Again, this is not a plot, but a necessity. By the middle of the Twentieth Century, the paternal Toxic King and his patriarchal institutions had full-blown Alzheimer�s disease. No longer was he a creative, righteous, spiritually grounded ruler. Instead he was merely another greedy dictator presiding over an oppressive empire.

The stage was thus set for the re-elevation of the feminine, which began well enough in feminism, but quickly regressed to the old power games of the matriarchates.

Every elevation of the feminine � Romanticism, chivalry, the Catholic Assumption, �women�s liberation� � are attempts by the collective West to weaken the power of the Toxic King, reform paternal inadequacies, and draw energy from unconscious, archetypal sources for use in the Great Work. Female elevation is indistinguishable from the alchemists� raising of matter by combination with spirit, the striptease of the unconscious.

Elevations -- re-deifications -- of the feminine are unavoidably regressive and unconscious, and therein lies both power and danger. As modern feminism has illustrated so destructively, this ouroboric recollectivization, this movement back to source, has inherent totalitarian overtones. The weakest elements of the feminine (the Empowered Witch), instead of using newfound power to destroy the doddering Toxic King, instead turns her rage upon all aspects of the masculine. If this persists, instead of creative renewal, chaos follows and, in Biblical terms, the divided kingdom falls to desolation. This is the tightrope America now walks, especially in regard to its �War on Evildoers� and its attempts to re-establish matriarchy in the Middle East and around the globe. This dualistic, vengeful, self-serving War is as doomed as America's recent War on Drugs and War on Masculinity. Junior Bush and his corporate cronies are not authorized to judge who, or what, is "evil," for they have not yet looked deeply enough into the mirror.
