Journal (15%) You will write informal responses emerging from our reading and discussion. I will occassionally post a topic on our website after a discussion; please send your journal entries by e-mail by the deadline (midterm/final ). As long as your are working thoughtfully though an idea and you complete a full page, there won't be a problem.
Midterm Test Based on the material to date (15%)
Student Presentations (15%)
Final Project/Presentation (35%) Group (2 or 3) on a philosophical study. You and I must agree on the topic and the criteria for evaluation..
Participation (20%) Attend all classes and be prepared to contribute to our discussion.
The Grade:
A (90-100) Exceptional work
B (80-89) Accurate work
C (70-79) You did the work, but there are deficiencies.
D (60-69) Serious deficiencies in more than one area.
E (below 60) Unacceptable performance

Be here on time for every class. If you do happen to miss a class, you are responsible for finding out from a classmate what you need to know for the next class.
