As a doctor, the ability to hold someone's life in your hands can be a very powerful thing. The residents, as well as interns can give life and also take it away...sound familiar?
.::Next is the theme of death. From the death of Izzie's fiance Denny to Meredith's brief experience in an after-life, Grey's looks at the idea of dying from different angles. There is the cut and dry view that someone no longer is alive and the idea that when someone dies they move on to another life. As well, the grieving process can be discussed in terms of how the characters deal with the deaths of loved ones versus how they deal with deaths of patients.
