Magickal Words
Adept:  an individual who through a series of study is considered highly proficiant in a particular magickal system.

Akashic Records:  Edgar Cayce brought this thought form to general society.  Apparently there is a giant data base somewhere that can be accesed for information on past lives, healing, and other magickal/ spiritual practices.  It can only be accesed by the mind of a  psychic or Witch.

Ankh:  This is an Egyptian Hieroglyphic that is widely used as a symbol of life, love, and reincarnation. 

Arcana:  The two halves of a tarot deck.  A major Arcana consists of 22 trumps depicting dominant occurances in our lives.  The Minor Arcana consits of 56 cards these indicate the smaller occurances in our lives.

Athame: This is a ritualistic tool.  It is a magickal dark handled knife that is used to cut objects in rituals and ceremonies.  There are many different kinds and you can find them almost anywhere.  Even over the internet.  They are very important in the initiation and other ceremonies.

Bale fire:  Holidays in which you might see this type of celebration are Beltane, Midsummer, Lughnasadh, and Mabon.

Bane:  This means bad, evil, destructive.

Bi-location:  This is basically mind-travel.

Blood of the Moon:  A woman's menstral cycle.  If this occurs during a Full or New Moon she is far more powerful than any other time.  Many may think that this is a " curse put upon women " but in fact, when it is the right time this can be a very generous gift.

Book of Shadows:  Also known as the grimoire.  Basically this is like a witches diary.  We use it to write our spells, information, how we feel about sertain things, ritaul, etc.  This is a very important tool in a witches life.

Bolline:  This is a rutualistic white-handled knife.  It is used for cutting herbs, carving candles, and other magickal/ritualistic purposes.

Burning Times:  A reference to historical times from around 1,000 ce to the 17th century, when it was said that over 9 million people were tortured and burned by the church and public officials.  This was on the assumption that they were the christian version of Witches.

Cabala:  This is also known as Kabbalah and Quabala.  It is an ancient Hebrew magickal system.

Call:  This is invoking the Divine Forces.

Chakras:  Seven major evergy vortexes found in the human body.  Each one is usually associated with a color.  They are:
Crown- white
Forehead (third eye position)- purple
Throat- blue
Chest- pink or green
Navel- yellow
Abdomen- orange
Groin- red
There are smaller vortexes located on the hands and feet.

Channeling:  A new age practice where you allow a discarnate entity to "borrow" your body to speak to others.  This is either through automatic writing or verbally.
