ISLAMISATION

As this is the 'hot topic' these days it would be worthwhile to take an impartial view of the matter without taking sides.

Let us begin first by asking a simple question: What is Islam? The Holy Quran tells us that Islam means submission to the Will of Allah. He, Who is the Creator & Sustainer of heavens and earth which includes not only our solar system but the entire universe with billions of galaxies, each galaxy in turn having billions of stars with each star being several light years away from each other .

This Creation was not meant for idle sport and play (21:16) but is there to speak of its Creator. Man was granted the faculties of hearing, feeling and understanding to help him put together the pieces of a grand jigsaw-puzzle, scattered throughout the Universe and thus discover God, his Lord, by virtue of His attributes. Something of a hide-and-seek type! For e.g. the glory and greatness of the firmament speaks of a Creator too Exalted to be in need of a partner or associate to depend upon (16:3).

Thus, man is expected to acknowledge Him alone as the "Supreme Power of the Universe" and submit to His Orders, Commands and Dictates. Every part of man, whether mental or physical, is to surrender unconditionally to His Will without any reservation.

Doing at all times as the Lord desires is what really Islam is.

Now, what if one is not willing to do so? Well ! the fury of earthquakes, volcanoes, tornadoes & the like clearly give the message :

"No man! You are too humble to have a choice" (67:16,17).

Yes, Islam's belief in the Oneness of God is not just an abstract idea. It is of profound practical relevance for humanity. On the Judgment Day when He will Arise before man in His true Might and Majesty, human beings must appear before Him singly (19:95) to give an account of their doings and mis-doings (99:7,8).

The freedom enjoyed by human beings is not absolute, but transitory. It exists solely for the purpose of putting man on trial . This system will last as long as this trial proceeds, and when it has finally run its course, the Lord of the universe will bring the affairs of this planet under His direct control as He has done with the rest of the Universe . Then the good will be separated from the evil .

The good will then enjoy eternal life in Heaven, and the evil will be condemned to everlasting Hell. In other words, this world is a domain where citizens of the next world of God are in the process of being selected Now, what are the virtues one needs to have in order to be selected ? The entire Cosmos, from the particles of dust to the stellar galaxies, is playing the model that man is asked to follow for it is a practical demonstration of the creed of monotheism. The code that we READ in the Quran , we can SEE physically in action in the vastness of the Universe. What God has established on a physical plane, man has to establish on a moral plane. For example, he should be like the tree which breathes out Oxygen in return for the Carbon Dioxide which it breathes in; that is, he should return good for evil; he should be kind to those who wrong him.

The whole universe continuously relays silent messages from the Lord. However, these silent messages were also pronounced loud and clear in man's own language through His Apostles. A whole lineage of which came as open Warners, and Givers of glad tidings so much so that there was a guide within every nation (10:47, 13:7). Starting with Hazrat Adam, (pbuh) it continued up to the 'second Adam' as life started all over again from his progenies. Allah continued to send messengers from time to time and place to place duly fulfilling His promise (2:38), so that men could have no plea against Him (4:165). The process was finally completed with the coming of the Prophet of Islam, Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh) .

Whereas Allah in His wisdom 'allowed' the Sahifa of Hazrat Ibrahim (pbuh), the Taurat of Hazrat Musa (pbuh), the Injeel of Hazrat Isa (pbuh) to be corrupted by their own followers, He promised to keep 'intact' His Last Testament, that is the Holy Quran

. Not a single person on this planet can doubt the authenticity of the Holy Quran. It is 'intact' as it was revealed about 14 centuries back. Many translators and interpreters have come and gone who interpreted it according to their own depth of knowledge and range of experience prevailing in their time. Some are excellent and some just so so. To make the matter short you owe it to yourself to go to this Book, open it, read it, and if you do not know or understand Arabic, please do not be disheartened because the Holy Quran has been translated into every popular, living language spoken on this planet. And the best time to read according to the Quran itself, is, in the morning . The Book comprises of 114 Surahs (or chapters); 558 Rukuhs (or paragraphs) and 6236 Ayaats (or sentences). A good English translation is by Allama Abdullah Yousuf Ali and its paper-back edition without the Arabic text is available for about Rs. 35/-. This investment you will realise is the best in our life. Read two Rukuhs each morning and you will finish one reading in 279 days (about nine months). It will take no more than 5 or 6 minutes of your time each morning. You will begin to feel the change within and without you and there will be no need for making any amendment in the Constitution because your own conscious and unconscious, moral and physical constitution will undergo a metamorphosis. Make the understanding of Quran a "passion" and take it out of the hands of those who have made it into a "profession" and in order to guard their market share, indulge in all sorts of sectarian killings etc. May Allah be your Guide. Kindly forward this to your other brothers and sisters and please remember me in your sincere prayers.
