Chapter 4 Coincidence? I
think not!
Disclaimer: Last time I
checked I didn't even have a bank account. So no, I don't own Gundam Wing and
I'm definitely not getting money off of this.
Heero blinked glancing at
the caller. This was the third call he had received complaining about a missing
female. What was wrong with the female population?! Why were they suddenly
just taking off and disappearing? First, Relena, then Hilde, Dorothy, and Cathy
sudden take off all for no reasons? At least, I wasn't told the reason why…
He sighed, turning back to
his work. Like he had told all of them. Relena came first, then he would see if
he could help his friends meet up with their female counterparts. Duo and Trowa
would most likely be able to track down theirs without any trouble but
Quatre.... Quatre was Quatre. Perhaps, he had better help him out. Besides,
this was too much of a coincidence. All four of them disappearing at once. They
were planning something, definitely.
If only he knew what...
Bakas. The whole lot of
them. That what comes of choosing such weak onnas. At least Sally would never
do anything like that. Wufei thought as he walked past the seemingly endless rows of doors to
the conference room. He opened the door and was half way to his seat when his
step faltered. A petite brunette was seated in Sally's spot. Sally was no where
to be found. He regained his composure, staring Une right in the eye.
"What is going
on?"
"Wufei, this is
Catrina. She'll be your partner for..."
"My new partner?! What
happened to SALLY?!"
"Sally, is unavailable
as of now... Wufei, where do you think you're going?!"
The brunette couldn't keep
the grin off of her face as an outraged Wufei stormed by muttering something
about weak onnas and of all the injustices that had occurred to him. When the
door slammed shut, she winked at Une before doing her best Heero impersonation.
"Mission accomplished."
Trowa entered the small
room surprised to see that Duo and Quatre were conversing at the far end of the
table. Heero was right behind him and immediately took a seat in front of the
computer. As if he would sit anywhere else... He thought before settling in
next to Quatre.
"But she left her
saber..."
"You know Dorothy more
so then I do. If she didn't want you to come after her, you know she would
leave that stupid sword behind."
"Relena, Hilde,
Dorothy, and Catherine have disappeared. Are you going to talk about it all day
or do something about it?" Heero demanded his fingers still skimming over
the keys.
"Oh, I'm doing
something about it alright. Hilde's not getting away from me without at least a
goodbye." Duo replied.
"I don't have to do
anything." Quatre said glaring at Duo. "Because Dorothy is coming
back."
"Then why didn't she
tell you she was leaving? If she were coming back, she would have informed you
of her departure." Trowa quickly said before Duo could open his loud
mouth.
"Women are weird. They
may intend it to be temporary but something we do gets misunderstood and then
poof! They're gone for good." Duo added leaning back in his seat. "If
we go after them they get outraged. If we don't they're mad. I'd rather have an
outraged Hilde, then a mad Hilde colonies away."
"Enough. What do you
know already?"
"Hilde's called all
the disappearing girls together. They're having a meeting of some kind. No
doubt concerning what they're going to do now. I suggest we snab them before
they get to the meeting. Each man after their own woman."
"And just what do you
suggest we do? Just tie them up and toss them in the back of the car?"
"If it comes to
it." Duo replied grinning.
"They'll just run away
again."
"Not if you can knock
some sense into their heads before they get an opportunity to." The three
other occupants of the room stared at him in shock.
"You mean... You'd
actually hit Hilde?" Quatre asked recovering first.
"It's just an expression,
Quat. I wouldn't really hurt Hilde."
"Haven't you already,
though?" Trowa asked.
"What?!"
"She ran for a reason.
All of them did. We did something to them, that hurt them enough for them
hide."
"We can talk some more
later." Heero said effectively cutting any more protests off.
"Right now, we need a
plan."
Dorothy flopped back on the
small bed as she stared at the ceiling. Sickening cheerful floral designs
stared down at her as she glared at the ceiling almost as if she expected the
paint to peel off. A loud beeping jerked her out of her thoughts. She pulled
the pager off of her belt glancing at the numbers.
"It's not Quatre.
That's for sure." Crawling over to the foot of the bed she stretched out
an arm to the small desk that occupied the far wall and flipped on the power
before entering the call number.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Dorothy."
Hilde's face popped up on the screen smiling cheerfully at the blonde. "I
heard a very interesting story about you and Quatre..."
Thirty minutes later...
"So, I dumped his
clothes in the load and hit the start button. When the load was done... They
were the lovely shade they are now." She added as the smile on her face
transferred to Dorothy's. "So, will you team up with me and Relena?"
"Of course, Hilde.
Payback time, right?"
"Of course."
"We tracked the signal
to Human Re- Resources Vehicle." Heero stated a hint of amusement
underlining his usually monotone voice. Quatre glanced up Heero, grinning.
"Let me get this right, Relena took the tracker off of your car and tossed
it in the back of a garbage truck?" Heero nodded the corners of his mouth
twitching. Duo grinned before commenting, "Sounds like Hilde, to me."
"I don't care who did
it. I have five very smelly and annoyed agents. Now, we've narrowed down their
location to..."
Zechs stared at the man
trying to process the information. "Relena's missing?" He repeated
shocked. The man nodded trying not to appear intimidated by the glare that
followed his nod. The Lighting Count nodded his face still covered with the
fierce scowl after he relayed the directions. Storming off toward the indicated
hallway one thought pulsed through his head.
Heero had some
explaining to do...
