5.17.02:

so, yeah, today was all right.  fias was missing, and we had mr long as a substitute, so that basically means i did nothing in acting or journalism.  however, in acting, we were assigned our parts for the final, which is the elephant man, and i've gotta play treves, which means i've got like half the script to say on my own.  levi brady and i are splitting it up, which is chill because it means i won't have to do everything on my own.  but, still, it's more than i want to have to think about leading into this final stage of my high school education.

in graphics, andrew and i worked on our music video.  we were supposed to work on it a lot over this week, but the other day, we just ended up sitting in his car, listening to dashboard confessional and gwar.  graphics is a joke anyway.

journalism, like i said, we didn't do anything since fias and half the class was in washington dc.  the class consisted of hannah, shane, smitty, matt longer and myself.  we sat around talking about books and music with mr. long, who is just damned irritating.  i'd read more books than he had.  it's always amusing to talk circles around teachers.  anyway, towards the end of the period, linds came into the room.  she and hannah are helping mrs. johnson, another sub teacher, register democratic voters.  four of the only democrats i know from this area were in the room, and apparently mr. long is one, too.  maybe he isn't that bad after all.

over lunch, i was going to work in the studio on the gspa banquet video, but decided against it.  it was too nice outside, so i went out in the sun on a bench and read some more of this side of paradise.  i haven't had a chance to read for myself, what with death of a salesman and the glass manegerie taking up most of my time from honors english.  so, yeah.  almost done with paradise.  when i'm finished here, i'm gonna put that one away.  that'll make like five books i've read in the month of may already.

in english, we took a quiz and then talked more about salesmen.  i loved the play.  someone, i think johanna shopf, said she didn't care for it that much, but she didn't like american beauty either, so that's understandable.  anyway, weidmann's gained respect in my eyes (which i'm sure he values highly) through these past few weeks, knowing what he thinks about the book.  it parallels what i think, in terms of life as a whole.

adult and family, took a test.  psychology, we took personality tests to reinforce what i already knew about myself.  spoke with mr. martin after class about my kohlberg paper and presentation, he gave me my grade up to this point in the class, gave me papers for makeup work after ten minutes of searching.  after that, i was like "what about the paper?"  he said he didn't have it along.  so, i spent fifteen extra minutes after school to check a grade i never saw.  whoa.

i'm still sick, but getting there.  i went in late yesterday, so i had a chance for like three extra hours of sleep.  i'll recover, slowly but surely, i guess.

battle of the bands tonight.  only going to see chainsaw abortion.  j's band is after that, i'll stick around for them and the awards presentation.  meeting lindsay there, then we're going to wal-mart to pick up gifts.

gifts for her sister's baby shower.  that's right, i'm going to a baby shower tomorrow with my girlfriend.  that should be interesting...
