MASQUERADE CONTEST- Since we all woke up so late in the afternoon on Sunday the evening came quickly. Sadly Frank, Hector and Keith had to return home to New York. Dragon Con just wasn't the same without my fellow Beach Troopers. That evening those of us still at Dragon Con when to the Masquerade Contest where anyone who was dressed in a Star Wars costume was invited to escort Anthony Daniels on stage. It was a great moment to behold. The Throne Room music began to play as Stormtrooper after Stormtrooper poured out onto the stage, led by none other than our own Zippy! Never missed an opportunity to be in the spot light my roomie Curt (Ham Solo) rush up on the stage and gave his best "Who me poses" when the crowd roared in applause for him. Unfortunately I dont have any pictures of that :(
SUNDAY NIGHT PARTIES- Well with most of the garrison gone it was up to me a Curt to find some parties. We decided to get in costume, Curt and Solo and myself as a Beach Trooper, and we proceeded down to the lobby.

After purchasing some over priced beers Curt and I began to mingle among the crowd. It was fun to meet all the people from all over the U.S. and share out mutual fondness for dressing up like a bunch of freaks. LOL It seemed like a reunion of sorts as all the people I had met over the course of the Convention stopped by to say hello.
Everyone at Dragon Con was so nice and wish it never had to end. And then just when it seemed that things couldn't get any better. A lost angel flew back into my life....
Having now joined the Scooby Gang the lovely Heidi used her detective skills to track me down on this last night of Dragon Con. I never even knew I was lost but was I ever happy to be found! As you can see Heidi was a very ravashing Daphne, so it was no surprise that she won the prize for best costume in the cartoon character category.
To my surprise I had not been blown off like I had feared but merely the victim of circumstances beyond my control. Soon after taking this picture Heidi and I sat down at the bar where we talked all night long (until they kicked us out.) Now getting some private time to talk to beautiful woman like Heidi isn't easy at Dragon Con. I can best compare it fighting off a pack of wild dogs with your bare hands. But somehow Heidi and I managed. I remember at one point some random dude was just blabbering about something and we just gave each other a look that said "lets get out of here." Soon afterward the bar closed and we tried to find someplace private to chat. Unfortunately wherever we went Heidi was the center of attention. Eventually I walked her back to her room and recieved the best good night kiss I have ever gotten.
