Background:
___Kyra grew up serving the Inner Sphere. As a member of the House
Kurita, she fought viciously and won many battles against her House’s bitter
enemy, House Davion. Her career was skyrocketing as she quickly rose in the
ranks.
It was at the peak of her career that she was engaged in a fierce arctic battle
against her sworn enemy, the House Devion. The battle was over a boarder
dispute that was over an arctic planet. She was part of the advanced scouts
that spearheaded the assault on the enemy lines piloting a Phoenix Hawk, the
Shadow Reaver. Meeting with great success, Kyra lead the advance straight
through the enemy lines, leaving a path of destroyed mechs in her wake. Despite
the overwhelming push, the Devions continued to fight, making the Kurita
warriors pay for every inch of ground, but victory was within grasp. The battle
was drawing to its close when a fierce blizzard hit. Two mechs were in a fierce
duel when the freezing winds and thick wall of snow hit. The two suits were
evenly matched and fought using every trick in the book. They moved with all
the speed and fired until their weapon’s overheated their mechs. In the end,
the crippled each other’s mechs, leaving badly damaged and useless hulks with
no chance of repair on the battlefield. The pilots ejected from their ruined
war machines and sought shelter. They both found it in a cave with a walk-in
entrance. They were Ryyma and Kyra. Distrustful and hating of each other, they
remained silent, but refused to kill the other as they needed the other’s
skills to survive. Five days passed and the blizzard refused to let up. On the
fifth day, Kyra started a conversation with her foe. During their conversations
that lasted for hours, they discovered that they had much in common. Their
conversation became personal and Kyra opened up to Ryyma, who likewise did the
same. Despite her feelings towards members of the House Devion, Kyra began to
value their newfound friendship. Over the next couple of days, they grew closer
and Kyra knew she had found her soul mate. Her loyalty to the House Kurita was
blown to the winds and this woman was her life. Then the blizzard that drew the
two together ended and a Devion transport arrived. Kyra hid deep in the cave
and waited for her own ride. Although both sides considered the blizzard to
have been a disaster, Kyra secretly considered the incident the best thing to
ever happen to her and wished that it had never ended. But it had and with much
sorrow, she left the one she had fallen in love with. Having never felt the
feelings she had for Ryyma with anyone else, she knew that she had to find her
and be with her, no matter what.
For the next few weeks, she spent time between patrols and guard duty at her
favorite bar, the Spectrum, a fairly lively gay bar. Having come out years ago,
she felt comfortable in a place where men wouldn’t hit on her all the time.
She came there to spend her free time in the bottom of a bottle and did so most
nights. On one particular night a butch tried to buy her a drink, but Kyra
refused, she was too rapped up in thinking about Ryyma. When the same woman
tried to cheer her up, Kyra made a rather cruel remark that offended the other
woman. Not liking Kyra’s attitude at all, the butch retaliated with a rather
uncouth comment of her own. Kyra’s response was a right hook to the jaw. The
other woman swung back, but Kyra’s military training gave her the edge as she
blocked the attack and countered. The fight would have lasted longer had a
large man not held Kyra back, while the bouncer grabbed the butch. After
assuring that they would end their quarrel and leave separately and without
further incident, they were let go. Kyra headed right back to the base where
she cried herself to sleep thinking of Ryyma. It was something she did quite
often after the arctic battle. But that was soon to change.
Three weeks after being rescued, House Devion attacked a House Kurita forward
listening post. Because her mech was completely trashed from the battle on the
arctic planet, she was given a new model of her preferred chassis. Leading the
vanguard of the reinforcements in her modified Phoenix Hawk 3050, Shadow Reaver
λ, she was the first to engage an enemy mech and with her lance mates, easily
crushing the unfortunate mech with their superior speed. Taking advantage of
the fact that the cockpit was still intact, Kyra listened in to the enemy radio
traffic, searching for information. To her lance mates, it looked as if she was
searching for military info, but the truth was she was searching for Ryyma. It
was then she heard the voice of her beloved. Knowing that she needed to find
her, she got back in the Shadow Reaver λ and searched the battlefield for
Ryyma. As the main body of the reinforcements arrived and the battle
intensified, she pushed her skills to new limits in the hope that she will find
Ryyma before the rest of the House Kurita. Outpacing her lance mates, she ran
across another enemy mech. Praying that this was her heart's desire, she opened
communications with the pilot of the enemy mech, her heart jumped when she heard
Ryyma's voice on the other end. Being on a closed channel, they came up with a
plan. Moving the mechs to give the appearance of a fierce battle and firing
several shots into the surrounding terrain, they feigned a fight. Ryyma then
left her mech and boarded the Shadow Reaver λ, where the two blasted the
cockpit of the Arctic Wolf to scrap. They then aimed the weapons at other parts
of the mech, totaling it. With the destruction of the Arctic Wolf, Kyra cut off
communication with her side by unplugging the radio. Having given the
impression that they were both dead, the two rode off into the sunset as fast as
the Phoenix Hawk 3050 could go.
Using their call signs as their names, they became a great mercenary team,
working for whoever paid their fee. Soon they acquired another Phoenix Hawk
3050 on the black market and the demand for their skills rose. Between the two
the feelings were heating up, but neither admitted their love for the other.
They both felt the feelings of the others, but they were both shy about their
feelings and so the feelings continued to boil. Kyra was particularly scared
that her beloved wouldn’t approve of her affection since she didn’t know if
Ryyma was straight or not. Then when they were hired for a particularly
dangerous mission for the Inner Sphere, they sat side by each under the light of
a full moon. Moving closer to her friend and partner she looked in to her soul
mate’s eyes and suddenly Ryyma was kissing her. For a moment she didn't know
what to do, but it only lasted a second and she kissed her love back. That was
the happiest moment of her life. She could finally express her true feelings to
the woman she loved and after that night, she has kept nothing from her love.
The two have been unstoppable since then and have grown in fame. Since then
they have added two more mechs to their arsenal, a Locust and a Jenner and have
recruited two other mercenaries to pilot them. Their contract price has risen
and they have come into greater demand and have made considerable money. But
they still have a long way to go before they are a house hold name, raking in
the dough, but they strive to make their small group into an enormously
profitable and famous mercenary group. But no matter what they have each other
and even if they have to retire, sell their mechs, and settle down, they will be
happy as long as they're together.
Personality:
Kyra is completely in love with Ryyma and will do anything for her.
She will fight through hell and back to make her happy and expect no reward of
any kind from her. She is very kind and loving around her and strives to make
her happy. Her feelings for Ryyma are always present, but her attitude in
battle towards others is much different. She is very cool and collected and
never flinches under fire. She is as ruthless as she is beautiful and shows no
mercy. In her career several people have begged for forgiveness or surrendered,
but she only replied by killing them in cold blood.
Physical Description:
With her dark green hair and lovely blue eyes, she is
quite attractive. She makes it a point to use her looks and rather charming
attitude to get her way. Often times this works. And if that fails with Ryyma,
she makes the cutest little puppy dog face and begs her love in a cute little
whiney voice, a tactic that often works. Kyra could never imagine using this to
hurt or cheat her love and only really uses it to cuddle and get affection from
her.
She usually wears an orange head band to keep her hair out of her eyes. She is
often well dressed, but doesn't mind to wear causal loose fitting cloths around
her love, Ryyma. When the couple is alone is the only time Kyra doesn't carry a
sidearm on her. In her modified Phoenix Hawk 3050, Shadow Reaver λ, she keeps
a small arsenal ready "just in case." And whenever she is in public, she keeps
at the very least a pistol at her side.
