We adopted Jones in August 2004 from a local pet rescue agency. He had been a stray wandering the streets of Melrose, FL with a coonhound. They named the coonhound Barnaby and him, Jones. The name stuck :) Jones is a purebred All-American dog (aka mutt) and he couldn't be a sweeter, more enjoyable companion.
Davey came into our lives in November 2004 when he was three months old. He was also a stray and we adopted him from the Orange Park Safe Animal Shelter. Davey was abandoned when he was just a few weeks old. Good samaritans found his litter of pups in a ditch on the side of a road, Davey was the only one to survive. He is also an All-American dog, but being how fun it is to guess ancestry, we believe he has some bull dog and lab in him.

You see these poor little turtles being sold everywhere, from on the side of the road to inside the malls, but it is a very serious commitment to adopt these little guys. It is easy for the general public to adopt them thinking they will stay tiny and cute, but eventually they will grow to be about 7-9" long and require a huge tank, lots of maintenance, and even more $$ for all the supplies needed. Please research this animal before buying- there is no such thing as a "throw away" animal.
