On December 24th Renoy & Rani (Rejoy's brother and wife) visited us in Kuwait from the US (Austin, TX) where they live.. We call them Kochumon and Kochumol or K's for short. Jomol calls them Kochupapa and Kochumummy. Here are a few pictures that we had clicked on Kochus digital camera during the visit to various places in Kuwait. The group comprised of your truly (Rejoy), Kochus and Papa and Mummy (Julies's) |

One of the famous landmarks in Kuwait is the Kuwait Towers. This is a set of three towers as seen in the pictures.
Unfortunately due to renovation we could not go up the 120m and see Kuwait from up there. |

One of the famous landmarks in Kuwait is the Kuwait Towers. This is a set of three towers as seen in the pictures. The tower with teh single sphere is a water reservoir. The tower with the 2 spheres has a ful scale restaurante on the lower sphere and a cafe with a rotating viewing deck. All of Kuwait city can be seen from this perch. The needle shaped tower contains the electric generator that powers the three towers. |

The picture on the left is the side profile of the Parliment building of Kuwait. A really nice architecture. Kuwait is one of the very few democratic countries in this region. In the photograph on the right the new 'Sief Palace', or the official residence of the Amir can be seen in the background. In the foreground is a mosque and a pretty old one too. Below Renoy (taken by his dear wife) standing in front of the Sief Palace compound and a closer view from the car window. It was too sunny that day !!!! |

The stock exchange building of Kuwait. A very nice and well constructed building. On the right is a tower called Sharq Tower. It's made of blue glass and has a helipad on top (the first building in Kuwait to have this) and has an LCD display to show time and temperature. |

Seein the first two photographs is the new modified look of the Commercial Bank of Kuwait Headquarters where Papa worked for more than 20 years. The photograph on the right shows a view to the right of the bank and in the background one can see the Liberation tower of Kuwait, which is a telecommunication tower and is the 5th tallest in the world. |

We had also gone to the fish market in Kuwait. We call it the fish palace. We had gone at midday when it is time for the auction. See how big the 'naimeen' are!! That one big bucket of super jumbo prawns went at KD75 ie. US240. WOW! cheap!
See Ranimol, eying the prawns and wishing to take one bucket back to Austin! |
