| SSH Sunset Cruise and Pyramid visit | |||||||||||||||||||||
| On the third day of our conference Philips had arranged for us to see the beautiful sunset at SSH from a cruise boat. We were informed by our guides that SSH recieves rain only two or three days of a year. However every 13 years, it rains so heavily that the whole area gets floodded. This is the reason that all the buildings in SSH are built maximum 2 levels. So again one can imagine how dry this land would have been when the children of Israel walked through here and therefore their cry for water. | |||||||||||||||||||||

| Visible at the bakcground is the coastal view of SSH. As you can notice all low bildings. Further behind are the mountains of Sinai. I am standing on the upper deck of our cruise boat. We had hired two boats since these are really small cruise boats and not the cruise liners. The bow of the other boat can be see to the right. |

| The cruise boats took us far out to sea and then turned back so that we coud see the sunset. The weather was chilly, there was a good gentle breeze and it was really beautiful. On return, with the gentle rocking of the boat and the cool breeze and the sounds of the water lapping on the boat, I did what I do best while on a moving vehicle ... ZZZZzzzzz |

| On my return, I had five hours transit in Cairo and so did the rest of the Philips team. So we took a quick tour to the Pyramids. On the left is the biggest pyramid (this is in Giza near Cairo). We were so close to this pyramid that I could get only part of it with the sun silhouting it. Below is the same pyramid taken with the Sphinx in the foreground. |
