CAMPING:

We have some good news in the camping department.  Although the two most proximate state parks to Mendocino are full on the weekend of June 7-8 ( Van Damme and Russian Gulch) the privately owned Mendocino Campground has abundant space.  No one knows about (until recently, we didn't) and we were very pleasantly surprised by the location of the place which is just across the bridge from town.  It can't be more than a mile.  The campground is located in a grove of tremendous trees and is quiet, has showers and is surprisingly beautiful.  Affordable too - rates are $19 per vehicle/per night.

The group camping reservation at Manchester State Park that was mentioned in the flyer that was with the wedding invitations has been cancelled due to its distance from Mendocino - over an hour on Highway One - which is way too far to go after a big meal!
