My F a v o r i t e Songs
This selection may be quite odd, but it's worth listening to these songs at least once!
not in order to show how favorite ther are to me : )
Song musician/band Album comment
Seven Nation Army White Stripes Elephant Rather anarchistic Jack White proves that he can be versatile
Poses Rufus Wainwright Poses Simple and beautiful
The Empty Bed Mick Ronson Play Don't Worry Mick arranged an Italian soap opera theame song with English lyrics. What an arranger! Rather unique voice he got. Died too young...
All My Love Led Zeppelin Wish it were longer.
Shinkicker Rory Gallagher Stagestruck Very energetic Rory. I love his roar to kick off the song! He will cheeer you up : )
In Your Town Rory Gallagher Live In Europe As if he were behind the bar himself! Excelent story teller, he was. Cool slide.
If Bread Manna Beautiful piece. ( I'm not fond of the last part of the lyrics) There is an easy tab which even I was able to play!
Concerto in A minor II Largo Antonio Vivaldi/Itzak Perlman Everybody knows part I, right? This part II was new to me... makes you cry..
Tu Chiami Una Vita Jan A. P. Kaczmarek Sound track "Washignton Square" I love the movie as well as the sound track. A version with heroin and her lover singing and playing piano ogether, and another by a soprano songer. Both good.
The Weight The Band Last Waltz The Staples ROCKS! You will find at least a few songs you like in this album. "Further Up On The Road" by Robbie and Clapton is fun to watch on DVD, too.
Desperadoes Under The Eaves Warren Zevon Quiet Normal Life Such a sharp sensetivity of his cerated this song. Who would have thought that an air conditioner hums as beautifully and merancholically as this? Rest In Peace, Mr. Bad Example.
Sister Golden Hair AMERICA Hearts Will you love me just a little, just enough to show you care
Exactly!
Awaiting on You All George Harrison All Things Must Pass What a melody!
Out of the Blue The Band The Last Waltz Levon Helm made fun of Robbie's singing a lot. But as I listen to this, it's not that bad. Robbie is a poet.
Sinister Minister Bela Fleck & The Flecktones There is a video footage of early Flecktones of this song.. A promotion? A harp takes the melody part and wow. There is a version with new line-up and Futureman hums. This one is also cool.
BTW their "All Along The Watchtower" cover (Jimi version) begins and ends with "Stairway...", it's awesome, too.
