This indenture, made and entered into this thirteenth day of August, in the year of our Lord (1838) between Caswell R. Clifton and Eliza M. Clifton, his wife of the first pat and Robert Graham of the Town of Huntsville, in the State of Alabama of the second part, witnessith, that the said Caswell R. Clifton and Eliza M. his wife for and in consideration of the sum of seven hundred dollars, to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have this day bargained, sold and conveyed and by these present do bargain, sell and convey unto to said Robert Graham and his heirs, all that contain lot or parcel of land, lying and being in the Town of Huntsville, Madison County and State aforesaid, known as the lot, lately owned by the said Caswell R. Clifton, on Washington Street, including the part once owned by Samuel Bennett and purchased at Sheriff sale by said Clifton being as is represented, part of lot No. 4 in the plan of said town adjoining on the south the lot owned by the Corporation of Huntsville, and on the north the lot owned by molly lee, a free woman of color, containing sixty eight feet front and running back one hundred fifty forty seven feet nine inches, to the same more or less � To have and to hold unto the said Robert Graham, his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Caswell R. Clifton and Eliza M. his wife do warrant and will forever refined the title to the above described premises, to the said Robert Graham his heirs and assigns forever and against themselves and all persons claiming under them or any other person and against all persons whatsoever. In testimony where of they have hereunto subscriber their names and affixed their seals the day and year above written.
